do you think its time for the old firm to join the premiership to get better on a european level
wrighty
Jul 27 2005, 10:23 PM
Yeah Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Celtic now that would be ace but I think Celtic are the best team in the Scottish league and if they left, it would be Rangers would they want to give them the satisfaction of being the best team in the league that would be horrible.
jasibaby
Jul 27 2005, 10:35 PM
one thing i will say it might give other teams in scotland a chance if they both come down to england.plus blood of scot for the national team
wrighty
Jul 27 2005, 10:52 PM
Plus it would make the premiership ace but it would then become too hard for Arsenal to survive.lol

i want them to join. they come as a package.
the only reason theyre so big is the whole hatred and bigotry thing. thats why they have such a large audience.

Don't be so tough on Gordon man.
He is at the helm for only 3 months and these things do happen in football.
I am a fan of mighty Olympiakos Piraeus FC. We lost to Juventus 7-0 a couple of years ago, so there are worst things than a 5-0 defeat.
You'll beat rangers a couple of times and your pride will be restored. Don't worry.
wunarmdscissor
Jul 28 2005, 11:09 AM
yeah i hear what your saying . juventus though are a top top european side, this was a buch of part timer no hopers against a team with a worldwide following of millions.
fat john hartsons wages alone were more than every one of bratislava's players combined.

That's rough on you, but if you go out of Europe and Rangers stay in, it could give you the edge in the SPL, as their priorities are mixed

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Darren Bent can fire us into the UEFA cup as long as we don't drop off like the end of last season.
Although realistically I'd settle for a top 10 finish
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 05:02 PM
I think United will grab 1st or 2nd this season I believe we are better than Arsenal and without Viera they will struggle we look the strongest and our pre-seasons going well too. COME ON YOU REDS!
wunarmdscissor
Jul 28 2005, 05:08 PM
dunno hopefully to be honest , anyone winnin the league apart from chelsea.
they quite simply bought the league last season and that ruined the premiership for me.
i mean they ran away with it.
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 05:14 PM
Yes but they have bought alot more good plyers this season too but they have way too many midfielders now and im hoping it will fall apart for them. Jose said its not the money that wins titles its the players yeah true but without the money they wouldn't have all these players. We need a different Prem champ this year and if its us then that will deffinetly annoy Jose.

Jul 28 2005, 07:27 PM
cant be going that good as you have just been done by an japanese side 2 . yes viera is a good player but we have just got a freak of a player in halb as he has everything plus im hoping mr wenger gets the money out and gets some one like diop of fulham as he is solid plus with cesc we have a gem of a player
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 08:11 PM
Thats the first time we've lost and it was to 2 great goals but yet we still should have done better.
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 08:43 PM
Arsenal wont buy many more players this season Man U have loads to come and that could include Ballack fingers crossed.
jasibaby
Jul 28 2005, 08:50 PM
i got a funny feeling that baptista thing is still on as wenger has said its still 50 50 {dont beleave the papers}and are still chasing him plus he getts his spanish passport in august.plus real and barca do not want him. ballack is looking likely to be a real madrid player as real the last i herad where after him with robinho
nick_fury
Jul 28 2005, 08:52 PM
You should have gone for Davids, how the hell did spurs snag that one?
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 08:52 PM
Real madrdid dont have big tranfer money about 30 mill and robinho will cost 20-30mill and ballacks atleast 12.
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 08:54 PM
I khow since when has a player like Davids not gone to a top team hes a great player and can produce alot of skill.
jasibaby
Jul 28 2005, 08:55 PM
davids is an old man at 32 and wenger seems to like them young.diop of fulham would be a good signing plus baptista
nick_fury
Jul 28 2005, 08:56 PM

Wrighty Real have a 100million euro transfer budget, about £65 million, they are really upping the stakes after Barca decimated them. 2 trophies in a row with no cup is not good enough for the mighty Madrid and they want to totally refurbish the team
edit: You want to talk about old man, Curbishly resigned Chris Powell??! Why??!
wrighty
Jul 28 2005, 08:57 PM
I didnt realise they had that much. Plus do you think Figo and Guti will go.
nick_fury
Jul 28 2005, 09:00 PM
Figo's as good as gone, but I think he'll need to drop his wages. Last I heard Inter had practicaly signed him.
Do you think we should have a mod merge these 2 threads? lol

Figo going to Inter thats a shame he would of made the premiership alot better but I dont think anyone could handle his wages but what about Ronaldinho 300k a week thats big money.
