Keep in mind that if coincidences happen three times in a row or start to take on a certain pattern, they no longer can be considered as such. That said, I have experienced quite a few of them in my life and all have left me scratching my head in wonder. I have for a long time wondered if some cosmic force is at work just beyond my understanding of it. Or maybe its just a coincidence. Its these little mysteries in life that keeps me going on in life.

I thought i would write about a strange coincidence i had recently.
I was on my way to a music festival on 24th august this year, with a friend who was 6 mnths pregnant.
I knew my parents had gone to drop my sister off in Coventry, a place which is around 4 hrs drive away from our home, (she has epilepsy and couldnt drive let alone go by herself)
Anyway, my dad is a bus driver, well a coach hire driver, he always, and i mean literally twice a week drives to coventry, amonsgst other places ofcourse, he knows the roots around like the back of his hand.
I was driving down the motorway (m58) funnily enough, i had gone the complete wrong way haha to where i wanted to go. But i ended up crashing. Hitting a verge on the motorway at 65mph and spinning out of control onto a slip road facing the wrong way, completely wrote my car off. Luckily we were both fine. But...
My dad and mum had taken a wrong turn, on their route home, they were not supposed to end up on the m58...... and they ended up passing by me and watching my crash actually happen.
Then i phoned them crying saying i had a crash, and she asked me what car i was in (we have a couple usable) i said the blue fiesta, and she started screaming, saying she just knew it was me..
just such a crazy coincidence that they took a wrong turn and watched it happen. Apparently they had gone "OH MY GOD, STOP THE CAR ITS LAURA"

I've always been in a state of naivety concerning coincidences, or synchronicities for that matter, after reading some posts I now realize that there isn't a shred of uniqueness with regards to my experiences.
Many times over have I had a fleeting thought of a person of obscurity, only to run into them a short time later. Many times over a discussion with a another person about some topic or situation leads to a coincidental confirmation of the topic at hand.
The most recent involved a conversation with a fellow from my childhood. We were discussing a humorous event concerning another person from our childhood. The next day I read in the newspaper an article detailing this very person's unfortunate demise.
Staying in tune with ones enviroment allows one to live a fluent and enriched life, free from mental congestion, free from falling victim to pre-judgement and presuppositions

For myself, I believe in fate and destiny. I believe that Coincidences are nothing fake or strange but from a higher power (That of God or That of Satan) I believe that we are all here for a purpose, and that purpose is to usher in God's Kingdom.

But what about coincidences that are essentially meaningless? For instance this morning I was reading the forums as per usual and listening to my favorite radio show Bob and Tom and just as I was reading a story about a guy apologizing for spreading fecal matter in court, they started talking about that news story. I knew they were about to start talking about this story, I could feel it. But it's just plain stupid. It's just a coincidence. I'm not special or psychic or doomed or anything like that. It was just a coincidence.

I would like to share something as well..
Don't know if it's coincidence or what but my boyfriend and I often have the same thoughts with in the same time.
Example: I was thinking yesterday of having a drink from Jamba juice so my boyfriend calls me with in 10min or so and asked if I wanted something from jamba juice .
Couple of days ago I was craving tacos did not say anything and we ended up at a Sushi bar after dinner he told me he was thinking of the taco place we like so much earlier but decide not to say anything as he did not want to drive far away from are neighborhood.
It seams to happen more often when we are both at peace and have good energy.
Also some months back I had a filling he was bringing me colorful flowers so I test my self and wrote on a piece a paper Thank you for the Flowers.
When he arrived at my door sure enough he had some colorful flowers as I handed him the note he just looked surprised and asked how did I know.. I told him I just had a filling.

Hi,
First, I'm a believer that when we experience deja vou or have a "coinincidence" it is our essence remembering somehow or pre planned chart.
I believe everything happens for a reason-nothing just is.
Like for instance, I will be in the car and start to sing a song-moments later it will be on the radio, or i will get a premonition that a particular song is on a certain station and flick to it and sure enough it will be on. Or, I will have a sudden thought of someone and seconds later they will call me.
Deja vou on the other hand -is just a reminder that you are on the right track in life.
These are just my opinions!
Take Care

Sounds similar to synchronized events - chain of events that don't seem obvious at the time but when you look back at where you've come to, you can see the connections...

I have heard of an interesting theory about de ja vu...that it is actually a pre-cognition, that you somehow KNOW that an event, or just a simple series of events will happen, then when it come to fruition, it feels as though you are remembering...when in fact you are remembering, not the actual event, but the precognition that you had. Also another explanation is that all strands of time, past present and future are all happening at the same time, that time is circular, and not linear. So with that, getting a small glimpse of the future, no matter how insignificant it may seem, would be explained. I also firmly believe that there are no coincidences, everything happens for a reason. And it may be just small stupid stuff, like the thinking of a song and then hearing a minute later on the radio. My personal belief about that is that the universe/deity/the one, is trying to alert you to your own awareness. It is trying to tell you to PAY ATTENTION!!!! And the more you pay attention, the more you will see, and the more you see, the more you will be able to contribute to whatever plan or higher purpose you are supposed to be a part of. Maybe during those times of acute awareness is not just for the awareness of that small moment, maybe it's also getting you ready for something more important that you will need to aware of. Just some thoughts....

I had an interesting string of coincidences/connections yesterday. My parents and I attended a lecture by a biologist called Prof. Steve Jones. After and during the lecture, we discovered that he had been brought up in Birkenhead (where I live), gone to Wirral Grammar School (where I go), and worked in the same place as my Dad at the same time at some point.
P.S. I bought signed copies of three of his books as well

I also have these coincindeces all the time, more or less, a while ago i was walking outside the city where i live and i thought i saw a person that worked at the same place i do about a year ago,i hadnt seen him since then and i was so sure it was him i almost said hello, but we were a bit apart so i just didnt say anything. the same night i when i was at work, he steps in the hotel to buy a pack of cigarrettes (now only that would have been coincidence enough because as i said i hadnt seen him anywhere in a year and he usually doesnt come to the hotel to buy cigarettes) and then i asked him if he had been where i thought i saw him earlier in the day and he looked like huh? and said no i wasnt.

That is so weird!

I've been the 'victim' of a doppelganger sighting more than once; I often wonder how many 'alters' there may be wandering around. Its something that often strikes me when the family of someone convicted for awful crimes etc state that their husband/son/daughter etc etc "couldn't have" commited the crime - what if the person they knew didn't, but an alter/doppelganer did?

Yeah, my daughter and I get these seemingly useless "coincidences" all of the time. We joke about how it would be nice if they really mattered. Maybe they do, somehow? Heck if I know. But, I actually think that it is more of a precognition that happens. We all have the ability, it just comes and goes. Some people practice developing it more. My daughter, who prefers to not learn about her inherited abilities, at this time in her life, has saved us from car accidents SO MANY times, by telling who's driving to slow down because of a deer in the road around the corner, or to pull over, and then something happens so we are thankful we listened to her.
The book "The Celestine Prophecies" is a wonderful book that has helped me to learn to pay attention to coincidences, and precognition, and energies. It is written as a fictional adventure, but teaches at the same time, so it is not boring. You guys would really enjoy it. It makes alot of sense to us paranormal-answer-seeking-oddities! Maybe I'll start a thread on it? Ya just never know what I might be inspired to do next...

Hey I just checked amazon, and they have the Celestine books starting at .01 cents! Shipping is usually about $3.50.
I have the one that contains the 9 insights, and then the second book attached with the 10th insight. It is called "The Celestine Insights". There is also a workbook.
These are not of any religious basis, by the way. They stay very general and applicable to anyone. It makes things make sense.

I'm glad somebody else raised the subject of synchronicity.
I was recently in conversation with a woman about names beginning with S and J. Virtually every link I've uncovered this past year has ties to my jazz band from high school, but the revelation didn't end there. The woman and I each had cats named "Jazz" (She has, I had). Her other cat's name begins with the letter S. Funny enough, one of our saxophonists in the jazz band was named Steve Jones. No kidding.
All six of my cats in Sacramento had names beginning with S. Four of those were runaways from neighbors, named by those neighbors. The only other two cats I lived with were in San Jose while renting a room; both had names beginning with J. The one most attached to me was a runaway, nicknamed Jazz (Jasper).
The woman with whom I was speaking was born in Santa Clara, the mission of which was founded by Father Junipero Serra. I was born in Sacramento, founded by John Sutter.
There is much more to share, but I don't believe that it's for the masses just yet. The story includes a great deal of personal information, but I can assure you that a higher truth is associated with synchronicities.
Eventually, I may discuss in detail the man I met this past March. He was homeless and a self-proclaimed alcoholic. He went out of his way to show me the image engraved on his flask and asked if I knew who it was. I didn't, but he responded that it was Joseph Stalin. This wasn't the extent of our conversation, not by a long shot. Note that it's one more name containing S and J.
I was a Jumble fanatic for many years, and I was immediately struck by the last name, though hadn't given it any thought in the past. Rearranging the letters in Stalin yields "Saint L." Stalin did kill millions of people... I'd like to add that one of the cats beginning with S was renamed Lucy by my mother, so the house was filled with Lucy fur.

Patterns are one means of communication by The Source to mankind. In my case, approximately 30 years worth of patterns all tied to a band of which I was a member from '88 to '90. Ultimately, the patterns confirmed for me that a man I met last March was who he claimed to be in a past life. Synchronicity didn't lead me to him, but it identified him to my satisfaction months later.
