So I am sorry to say that I am looking for somewhere to go that will freak me out for Halloween. I know, Cliche, but I think it is more to satisfy my own curiosities. From the time I was ten, I have always lived in places that have had strange things happening in them. The house we had just built was weird because toilets would flush in the middle of the night, (not just running, but full on flush) and I know for a fact that nobody was in there. The laundry basket would jump of the washing machine while nothing could have disturbed it, and things moving across a dark hallway.

Until last year, I just thought of it as being freak happenings. My Girlfriend and I lived in an old Condo, built in the 1930's. It had a great old charm to it. Then things got weird. The front door, which was at the bottom of the stairs, would open and close randomly, there were foot steps going up the wood stairs, the refrigerator door would open on its own. If we were in the bedroom, there were foot steps through the living room, the sound of fingers running up and down blinds, and the one that freaked me out the most was when I heard a phonograph in a upstairs room that doesn't exist, there is just a tiny attic. While that was happening, I also thought felt something run into the bed. I'll be honest, I had my eyes covered. That all was just to creepy.

But now, I want to know more positively is there is something out there, or if there is life after death. It is such a strange topic, almost to big to fit into my brain. There is so much we don't know, but I would like to figure out this one little thing. Are They Real?

Just wondering what it would take to convince you one way or the other. Your past experiences seem numerous and in your mind unexplained. I think it is wonderful you want to find for sure. thumbsup.gif

When I first moved to Okanogan , Washington from Enumclaw, King County, Washington, my family and I moved into a nice home that used to part of the local train station here in Okanogan. The city sold it on open action in two parts and was bought by two parties. Both parties made very nice homes out of them after moving them onto the lots of land they owned. The one we moved into was the section in which the offices and waiting room was, complete with the ticket window on one of the 4 bedrooms. Since we had just moved in and the nearest neighbors were about a half a mile away, we did not immediately put up curtains and just laid the mattress in the living room floor as we were moving in. It was the first night there and we were still moving in when we stopped for the night and went to bed. The moon light was shining enough to clearly see when I heard foot steps on the wood floor walking around. Thinking it was one of my kids out of bed I sat up in bed trying to locate them in the room. What happened next goes against all I had believed in as far as the ‘supernatural’ is concerned, which was all of it was made up or misunderstood events. When I sat up in bed I noticed both my dogs froze in a stance, hair raised up on their back but not making any sound or growling as normal. The footsteps did not stop when I sat up but got closer and my wife, half asleep from being woke up by me sitting up in bed also heard the loud footsteps in the room and said ‘You kids go back to bed’. I was shocked by what I was experiencing, very real footsteps in the room with no one making them, both my dogs fully aware of them and frozen in what I can only express as a healthy fear of something very dangerous but would not yield to it, standing their ground and light enough to witness all of this clearly. I reached over and shook awake my wife and pointed towards the hallway the footsteps were now heading for. We both watched with shock as they stopped in front of the hall closet, heard a click on the old metal latch on the closet door and watched it slowly open. My wife asked me what the hell was going on having witnessed both the footsteps, the closet door being opened and our dogs froze with hair standing up on their backs. It was not until I turned on the light next to the bed and got out of bed that both dogs unfroze and began barking at the hallway. They walked with me into the hall where I shut the door and checked on the kids, who were sound asleep. There was no basement or attic and the dogs never displayed that behavior again. It was very real and thought I would share the experience with everyone.

Excellent. I would never live in an old train station, but it is interesting to see how active one still is. They were once such big turning point places in the lives of people that I am not surprised that they would be haunted.
