What is Real???

Example::::

Is it really 9 billion years in the future and we are some advanced race of beings that scooped up th interstellar dust of some medium star that went nova, shifted through all the matter an reconstructed the once ancient race of beings who lived on a planet they called Earth?

Are we those beings, wandering the cold reaches of space collecting all the life that once was and living through them to understand what Life really is?

Is that no more strange then thinking that the Big Bang happened 15 billion years ago from some tiny cosmic point and we just happened to be created in the middle of a explosion?

Never be afraid of the possibilities of life. . .for they are endless.

What you all think!!!??

***My buddy emailed me this i thought it was interesting, but im not sure about the first part.. can someone help me understand it better, thanks all... i no to many many of you it will be interesting and you will have many responses.. but i can't quite grasp the deeper meaning*** Thanks!!!

What I think the first part is saying is that we're such advanced beings (not the human part of us but something else wacko.gif ) that we have recreated Earth from knowledge of Earth having existed elsewhere. ie. we know how to scoop up interstellar dust from stars gone supernova and create what at one point took evolution billions of years.

Well, to that I say highly unlikely. What a load really. Interesting maybe but sensible NO. What sort of evidence is there for this? None, except maybe some nutter 'channeling' (ummm, acting) some 'advanced' race gibber jabber. And why then can't we be such advanced beings that we have scooped interstellar dust and recreated the advanced race that was recreating another advanced race that was recreating another advanced race that was recreating the race of some ancient peoples on earth wacko.gif If we really were such advanced race, why would we be putting ourselves through such unnecessary hard times - to understand what life really is? Aren't we supposed to be advanced beings, recreating earths? How do we recreate it if we don't already know it?

More to the point, why can't we just be a species that has evolved on a little 'blue' planet in the solar system in the Milky Way galaxy just right from the start. Why do people need some ridiculous and obviously flawed hypotheses. Oh, I forgot - because it supports those that spout the 'channeling' garbage.

LucidElement, I would not believe such fairytales for a second and this statement...

...doesn't sit right either. The hypothesis is more than strange and Occam would be turning in his grave. wink2.gif

BTW, I know it is not yours LucidElement so I am not commenting on what you say. thumbsup.gif

That's my .02 worth.

Cheers

This is a reply to another topic but i beleive there is a thread amongst my answer that is applicable in this case also...

I beleive that his problem is caused by too much knowledge crammed into our brains. when we were children we were not weighted down with endless streams of information, we were innnocent beings without a care or a worry in the world, as we grew up in a revolutionary world that was changing around is our innocent minds could not cope with the influx of information and the questions are minds started to ask could never be entirely answered, they only led to more questions...the questions then took on the rabbit hole effect, a downward spiral into uncertainty with no absolute reference point in which to say here is where it started and this is how it will end. human imagination mixed with outside technological and spiritual advancement caused a fragmentation in truths leading us to struggle with our beleifs. this is common amongst all people today...the world has been here since the beginning of time yet we have only been here since the day of our births. to try and comprehend the entirety of our existance would be an excercise in futility. as a single mind yourself, a simple philosphy, let the world be what ever it is and let me get on with my life, for it will end one day and i will never have found the answer.

Not a bad idea for a work of fiction though.

And what if kangaroos are actually the real image of God? I mean, reality is relative at that point.

Relativism is perhaps the most dangerous trap for wannabe philosophers to fall in to. It spawns an endless cycle, limited only by the capacity of imagination.

Have you read this topic -----> ??? http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...p;#entry1400229

I feel that they kind of... intertwine.
Leonardo
Sounds like a derivation of the Matrix Universe hypothesis.

It's quite an entertaining read and possibly impossible to verify so shouldn't really be qualified as a theory.
Carrieola
No, it's nothing like the Matrix Universe. In the matrix, the universe is simulated and created by someone or something else. I think the universe is consitent... it's all the same... it's not another entity but ourselves that interperate things differently.
Leonardo
Carrieola,

Sorry - I was responding to the first post on the thread. Should have made that clear.

To be honest, anyone who actually can't tell what is real is in serious trouble. However, not wanting to accept that reality is perhaps understandable. Of course no matter what is real, we have the freedom to choose how to interpret that reality. There is no law that says we all have to view the real world around us in the same way.

I heard of a Zen proverb that says " The problem with searching for the truth is that one day you might find it and then you would have to live with it". Maybe that applies to reality.
What are we willing to live with (or without)?

I always liked that saying. I wonder what the reaction would be if it were proven beyond a doubt that humanity was no big deal.

It's just as good as any other possibility grin2.gif I can't deny the possibility of it, that's for sure.
