Hey there, I'm new to this community but I've been doing private paranormal investigations for over a year now. These two EVPs were captured during two different investigations; one in what is now the woods, but a heavily travelled area over a hundred years ago, the other in an abandoned house on my land which is well over a hundred years old. Thank you for reading.

EVPs
ShaunZero
Welcome to Unexplained-Mysteries. Very interesting indeed. The only thing that I dislike about EVPs is the fact that they are so unclear, anyone can read any set of words into them. If I would not have read the titles of each file, I would not have came to the same conclusion.

But EVP still intrigues me.
Xalo
Thanks, and I agree with you about the problem of interpretation with EVPs. However, I find it interesting that these things sound like someone talking, even when (such as is the case with these EVPs) you are confident that no one was talking and you're in the middle of the 'boonies', so there isn't anyone else around. Both of those EVPs were captured with my Sony digital recorder.

I had more EVPs, but sadly those were lost when my website database crashed and I had forgot to back them up on my new hardrive.
ShaunZero
That sucks.

And yeah, I do agree with you on that. They do sound exactly like someone talking. It's interpreting what they're saying I have a problem with.

Goodluck on your future investigations, and I hope you return too show us some pictures and more evps. Hope you enjoy the website as well.

It might really benefit to slow these down if you can Xalo.

The first one I hear "keep a secret"
RollingThunder06
Great catches. The first it seems to about keeping a secret. The second I hear stopping you but it doesn't sound like nothing is. Can't make the first part of it. Hope to keep seeing here!

The first one sounded like what everyone has been saying"keep a secret" but as people have said I read the title and that gave me something to look out for. It is just too fast it could be interpreted into other things. The second one I thought was a lot more believable, it was slower and way more clearer, if indeed noone had said anything at the time, I'd be pretty creeped out. tongue.gif
Xalo
Thanks for the advice, I'll try slowing the first one down and posting it later on. Since we don't listen to the recordings until after we get back and are putting it on the computer, we usually don't get creeped out too bad. However, there is one humorous clip I posted on YouTube from when we were first starting out and had a mishap with the temperature reader

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
ShaunZero
You guys seem like a fun bunch to be around, lol. happy.gif

The camera guy sounds like he has a southern accent. Anyone from around Louisiana? And just curious, which one are you?

I also noticed that alot of you guys were whispering while recording EVP, lol. I hope that's not what's recorded in the 2 files above.
Xalo
Haha, we have so much fun doing investigations. It's hard to stay serious when another member, Dan, comes along. That accent is a genuine North Carolinian accent. I'm the camera guy but I tried to do the pan-around 'group shots' for when we were walking. I'm not sure why it's so much fun for a bunch of guys to go around getting the crap scared out of 'em, but we can't get enough of it.

*about the whispering

That was either our first or second investigation (I can tell because we were trying to record on a Talkgirl). The EVPs are when we were more professional and serious about what we were doing.
ShaunZero
Ahh gotcha. Well the accent kinda reminds me of myself, and people where I live. I'm from Louisiana, lol.

Seems like it'd be fun to me. I only wish I had a group of people interested in doing this sort of thing, I'd have a group together in no time, lol. I've always been interested in the paranormal and getting to the truth, even if the truth is not what I want it to be.
Xalo
Good deal, it's going to be interesting to see how our team changes once we all head off to different colleges. I have slowed the first EVP down and dropped it's pitch by 3 semitones. The result kinda gave me chills.

I can hear something that does sound similar to "you have" and I DEFINITLEY hear the word "secrets".

Nice job on those EVPs...they sound realistic, but almost too realistic huh.gif. Kind of like a perfect human's voice. Most EVP's I've heard were faint, nonsensical and illogical words. But very good job on the capture. Kind of creepy you went in an abandoned house..whew.
Xalo
Thanks, I'm quite lucky to have captured them, those two were probably the best quality I had captured in several investigations worth of recording. Although I'm sad I lost all the other EVPs, I'm glad that of all the ones I could recover, I recovered those two.

About the house...it is really creepy. I'll try to post a few clips from some of our investigations there in the future. There are books where someone wrote stuff like "I hate...I hate..." and all sorts of really screwed up stuff on the pages. It's way out in the woods as well, so we make a point of only going there during daylight. The furniture, sheets on the bed, pots, pans and even stuffed animals and toys are all still there, albeit scattered around a bit. There's no way I would go up there alone, daytime or not.
Lady_Anvilabeel
Ok I hear different now that it's slowed down - "You got a secret"
boorite
"Don't leave us here." Honestly, that's what I hear in the first one. Not even close to anything about a secret.

Edit: Slowed down, I hear something like "secret."

BTW, how about something, anything, about the context. Where, when, what, etc.
RollingThunder06
Going back anytime soon?? Those are great! thumbsup.gif

The 'nothing stopping you' one sounds like it's straight off of a tv or radio broadcast. Clearest things I've ever heard.

I agree, clear as a bell. As for #1....it sounds like I hear the word "secret" but that's all. Good material.. thumbsup.gif

Thanks guys, I'd be more than happy to post any EVPs you have captured on there as well since that section is kind of thin now.

As for the locations...

The one that sounds like it has the word "secrets" in it was captured around August of last year in what is now a wooded area near a pasture. However, an old wagon road used to cross by near there and there is a grave of some sort nearby as well which is very old and sunken in and doesn't have a marker. Also, I know that there used to be several Cherokee Indians who used to live in the area. My family has found several arrowheads over the years. The EVP was taken near some large rocks at about 9 at night. It would be very interesting to see who all has walked through that area in the past several hundred years.

The other EVP was captured in an abandoned house on some property about a mile or two away. It was built well over a hundred years ago and has been lived in by some of my family members up until the 70s or 80s, where it was rented out to various people. This particular EVP is from October of last year during our first investigation to the house. For this one we set up a recorder in the bedroom of the house and walked into the kitchen and waited for 5 minutes in complete silence before returning to get the recorder. It should be noted that this house is now surrounded by lots of woods as well and is pretty remote.
Just so you know, my family owns both properties so I wasn't tresspassing or anything.

One thing that bothers me though is why I have never caught any of what I perceive as Native American EVPs in that area. Let me know what you think.
Cazee
Realy nice mate.... man i wish that i live in the Us tongue.gif...

but in the movie you posted did there came anything in the recording? tongue.gif
Xalo
The movie was from one of our very early investigations and was before I had my Sony digital recorder. I've never heard any unaccounted for voices recorded on the digital camera but I haven't plugged the audio into one of my programs and looped it over and over analyzing it either.
So, to answer your question more specifically, the video was recorded before these EVPs were captured.

So far I've only heard EVPs from places in America, Canada, and around Britain. I found it interesting how several EVPs from Scotland had what could be classified as a Scottish accent. Has anyone here captured EVPs in other countries?
Lady_Anvilabeel
I've got what I believe to be an EVP that contains one short sentence of english and the rest unknown foreign voices. Here

Xalo
Wow, that was amazing Anvil. Would you mind if I hosted it on my site Really Weird in the EVP section?
