hi,i am new to this,my story is not as scarey as some of the ones i have read but it has always made me wonder if my grandad came to me in my dreams.
when i was 13 my grandad died we was very close we spent every spare moment together so as you imagine i was devistated when he died.
so after he died i kept getting the same dream at least once a week,i would be at his house with my nan standing in the kitchen when all of a sudden he would appear at the bottom of the stairs i would scream and shout'what are you doing here you are supposed to be dead'then in my dream i would run off crying.this dream continued for several years into adulthood, until one day i had the same dream but i wasn't scared anymore and i faced my grandad at the bottom of the stairs and said goodbye to him he waved back back at me and that was the end of that and that was about ten years ago and i haven't had that dream ever since.

Noone can give you an answer to that question.

It very well could have been your grandad. Maybe he wanted to wait until you said goodbye to leave you. But also, it could have just been a dream. When something happens to someone like that, it sticks in their minds, creating dreams about it.

Could have been many factors. A dream, your own mind coming to terms with it, or your grandfather waiting until you could goodbye. What explanation do you feel more comfortable with? original.gif Oh and welcome to UM!

That was a sweet story Tasha70. Your grandad realized you wanted very much to say goodby so he quietly persisted in giving you that opportunity.

Thanks for sharing,

John

The subconscious has a funny way of helping us cope or deal with a strenuous situation. It could be just a defense mechanism of some sort to cusion the blow of your loss mentally.......Like RollingThunder said, what do you choose to believe?

I was thinking along these lines as well. Could have been yourself saying goodbye to him, there's no doubt that grief can be expressed/dealt with in our dreams.
