The first round of the tournament consists of six groups of five participants each. Each participant will play every other participant in his or her group twice, once as black and once as white. Once all games have been played for a particular group, the top three highest scoring players will go through to round two.
The scoring is 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
When starting a game please use 1 day timeout, 7 day timebank.
The tournament has now started, feel free to check the below scoresheets for which group you are in and start challenging the other participants in your group. When a game is complete, you must post the result in the results thread so that the score can be recorded.
The groups were organised completely at random, I assigned each participant a number from 1 to 30 and run a random number generator to determine the group order.
