Though some may panic I don't think any of us have to worry about considering it's not until the year 2,252,006. laugh.gif

The article then goes on to say how Rats will grow larger and eventually may over take us as the dominant species of this planet.

When I was in college I lived in a run down apartment where that was already taking place... Those guys got big, and they were seriously organized...I think they had a union meeting place in my bathroom wall... tongue.gif

Perhaps... but cockroaches unlike mammals do not have social structures. Rats on the other hand are very intellegent creatures and very organized. When I lived in Nova Scotia mine rats lived in our basement. They were huge and without over exagerating bigger then my cat, i caught one in a trap and from nose to the tip of it's tail 2 inches shy of 2 feet.

I'm not sure if anyone knows this or not but rats can chew through concrete and even steel piping. Their jaws have amazing strength.

Roaches will always be and have always been nothing more then a bug. Rats are higher up on the food chain and always will. Once humans are gone it is unlikely we will ever return but perhaps rats as they grow and adapt over millions of years may spawn a new species of intellegent rat. Why not they do share many common traits with us and they adapt and breed quickly.

I like how large rats might take over us when our ancestors killed mammoths with spears and torches.

I'd believe it. I have 3 of the little buggers, and they're pretty smart. Cuddly, too. They have a little organized social system.
