Someone once told me that most of the cases in "Unsolved Mysteries" were fake. They just created new stuff up to fill the series and make them more interesting. Do you guys think/know this is true? I don't know what to think anymore!

No I don't think so--- at least I hope not.

The show itself says the cases are real, i'm sure some details could be left out for the purpose of making the cases more interesting, but i doubt they'd do much more than that.

I really think if something like that leaked out, the papers would have a field day and it would have been posted on here by now.

But Unsolved Mysteries is ooooold so if it was a fake, it would have been in the newspapers looong time ago and nobody would remember it now, yes?

I don't think Unsolved Mysteries is fake. In fact, they do updates on some of the stories they talk about.
I was on youtube.com. youtube.com has everything on there, it's unbelieveable all the stuff they have on there....well, anyway, I haven't seen Unsolved Mysteries in years....and just for the heck of it ... I found it on youtube.com.
I watched bigfoot and the bermuda triangle.
The first incident: flight 19, which alerted us about the mysteries of the triangle was solved.
and Bigfoot...the story they had on there was somewhat recent as of 1989 directly from the person it happened to.
These are the only two I have seen so far.
p.s.: as for the stories being in the paper....depends on the paper

It's not that old. There was a game show in the 60's that was proven to be fixed and they made a movie about it recently.

One UFO story that was on "Unsolved Mysteries" involved people I know so I know that case wasn't fake.

eew, robert stack had such a scary voice! fake or not, his narrating was enough to creep me out. he could be talking about lucky charms cereal and pink ponies and i would probably get scared sh*tless.

I believe t to dramatized, but I believe the general facts pertaining to the cases are valid and at least somewhat accurate. BTW, I love this show and Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction?. Something about both of those shows scared me severely. One episode of BB in particular, where a young boy supposedly disappeared in his closet with witnesses around. I remember as a child being quite frightened. I wish they had BB on DVD or P2P or somwhere in sindication. Either way, good times.
