I'm looking for some good first person shooters for the PS2. So what are the best ones out there? Also please make sure that the game includes a multiplayer mode.

The Original half-life is pretty good, the PS2 version has a multi-player feature that me and my mate used to play on four hours. Another good one is Killzone (I think its multiplayer, i can't remember) And judge dredd:dredd vs death

Black is a very good fps for PS2, had me hooked for about a month or so.

None because FPS's on any console lick balls.

If you want to play FPS just use you mouse and keyboard and play them on your PC.

this might be a bit off topic, but seeing as we are on the topic of FPS, did u know halo 3 will be online together with the PC and XBOX 360. Put simply, people who play halo 3 on xbox live can also play against people playing the PC version.

Care to cite a source? Halo 3 is only coming out on the 360 right as of now. Even if they do port it to the PC like Halo 2 vista the online competition will remain 360 vs 360 and PC vs PC. The main reason's being that using a mouse and keyboard compared to a controller takes less skill and the other is that PC's are easy to abuse and mod, which is great if the games are played solely PC vs PC. Xbox Live though is a place for competition of skill, not ability to mod.

To get back on subject:

Black
Killzone

Those seemed to be my fave on the PS2.

I guess I'll add black to my list of games then.

And please don't remind me about Halo 3, I can't stand the thought of having to wait another 7-8 months. wacko.gif

Black ain't that good it plays like an old school console FPS like golden eye or Duke Nukem.

You'll love it for a while, but in the end there are better games out like Halo. it maybe good if its just a rent.

to tell you the truth there are not that many good fps games on the ps2, but Medal of honor frontlines was good all the red faction games were nice and time splitters series was good too.
Boff
Killzone aint bad. But really...I agree with GanjaGuru tongue.gif

I agree with super pancake the medal of honor series are really good I bought black a while ago, and ya good for awhile but gets a bit old almost to the point you don't want to finish it. Still fun though
SoLLiZ
Any of the TimeSplitter games are great, I have been having a blast with Future Perfect for the past week or so. Cat racing is great.

Cold Winter is the best FPS on the PS2 and easily one of the best of all time. It's, unfortunately, very underrated and didn't get nearly the attention it deserved. It is a very addicting game, though.

Other great FPS are Killzone, Red Faction 1 and 2, No One Lives Forever, and the TimeSplitters series. There are really a lot more great FPS on the PS2.
Super Pancake
^Yeah forgot about that game get Cold Winter now its also plays great online.

"There are really a lot more great FPS on the PS2."
no there isn't any

but seriously you guys think Killzone was good to me its below average.

Yeah, there are a lot of great FPS on PS2, actually. Most of them are games that didn't get a lot of attention. There are a lot of crappy ones too, though.
I don't see what's wrong with Killzone. It did have a lot of bugs that easily could have been worked out, but other than that, it was a very gritty action game with a realistic feel. The online was god-awful, though.

Killzone is fun, and ww2 games try the moh multiplayer modes, moh is the best on multiplayer if you play with multitap, i always play a moh game when i have friends over grin2.gif

I picked up Black on the weekend. It is fun, but extremely linear. No jump, can't even climb ladders, no bosses, no story. Just 8 levels of point and shoot. I enjoyed it but it seems like they went out to make a game that looks amazing and has so much potential as a FPS, but then decided to half ass every element about it other than the look and feel of it. A shame, but at 25 canadian new at least it was priced right.
Shakezulah
I thought Black was pretty good. It's just how you described it. They aimed to make a game focused on guns and that's exactly what they did, but perhaps they focused too much on them. The graphics are beautiful for a PS2 game, though. The explosions were awesome looking.
BurnSide
Yeah i cannot get enough of blowing stuff up. The Silos, WHOA! When those things went i nearly, well, ahem. Combat is well done, aiming feels great, it's all done so well but i just don't understand why they would go through so much trouble to make such an awesome game, and then leave out so many things which would have been simple to impliment and add so many extra dimensions.

Like... TWO PLAYER!!

Heh... that was one of my main disappointments of Black. No multiplayer. hmm.gif

I like Killzone. Although some issues kept it from greatness. sad.gif
Finest hour is also pretty good. Pretty much all CoD games kick ass.
Col. Kurtz
DOOM is the best of all time. grin2.gif
