Full Version: Questions about Astral Travel/Remote Viewing

Hi all.

Posted a few times on various threads but this is my first effort at started a topic, so please don't flame the newbie!!!

I'm pretty open minded about paranormal/psychic experiences people describe, I have had a few experiences myself that are hard to ascribe to coincidence.

However, without trying to sound too skeptical, when people talk about astral travel and remote viewing as in various threads on this forum I start wondering 'Well, if this is really happening, why are there still any mysteries about this planet left undiscovered?' huh.gif

Knowing next to nothing about these phenomena I might be entirely wrong when I assume that an astrally travelling spirit can go anywhere? If so why not go to the American north-west and check out if Sasquatch is alive and well, or the Himalayas for Yeti? You get my drift.

Being a newbie here it's possible people HAVE been doing this and I simply don't know, or maybe not on this forum but others have reported doing this and had their reports pooh-poohed by a disbelieving public.

Anyway I'd really appreciate if people in the know could explain why this does/doesn't work and maybe a bit more detail as to what is possible with AT and RV.

Thanks. thumbsup.gif

Hi Leonardo,

That is a good question. Your comment reguarding the 'disbelieving public' is a factor. I think it is importent to respect the way any of us wish to think about these things. I am in favor of diverse points of view. Some are not. This is ok with me as well.

I once took a four session class on 'time travel'. This experience involved even more than RV and AT. At the heart of all these things is the issue of self (discovery, love) and the process of remembering who we are and why we are human at this time.

As far as the discoveries made during these adventures. You can chalk them up to points of view reguarding various questions that were on my mind. Things like you mentioned.

The proof for my mind about these conclusions is the degree of feeling I experienced.

I hope my comments shed some light on this for you.

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply. As I stated I was afraid of sounding skeptical, but I joined UM as I think it could be a good place to learn about things I wouldn't find in mainstream education so I had to ask.

I respect the rights of any individual to their beliefs and opinions (indeed some of mine might be considered a bit weird to others) and would not disparage them on these grounds. I suppose I am a scientist by nature (John makes mystical sign to ward himself tongue.gif ) and I love to question things.

As far as AT and RV go there may be limitations to these but, unless I know these, I'm not going to be able to refine my opinion. Any info/links to more info would be appreciated.

cheers
