Full Version: A PS2 is pretty much a computer, right?

If this belongs better in the Gaming section, please move it. I couldn't make up my mind on where to put it. I just figured it'd be better here since it's a support question.

Here's my problem:

My PS2(Like all other PS2s I've ever had!) doesn't want to read any discs. When I turn the PS2 on WITH a game inside, it goes straight to the main menu. I click "Browser" and I can see my 2 memory cards, but no Disc. So, I open the disc tray and close it again. The screen says "Reading Disc.." for about 2 seconds then just dissapears.

I decided to open my PS2 and clean the lens. I did all of that, but while closing it, the silver wire which connects the top part(The cover with the logo) to the rest of the system came undone! Now I have no idea where to put it back. It does not appear to be RIPPED or torn or anything, it just appears to have slipped out. Does anyone know where it goes and how to put it back? If not, I'm going to just spend the money I don't have on a new PS2 =/.

PS2s are HORRIBLE quality.

Thanks, man. That last picture is what helped me, lol. I read that same guide and that's the guide that I followed to clean my lense. You don't know what I've been through trying to fix it! Man, the part I had to stick the silver wire in was deep inside the PS2. My fingers hurt. >.>
