poem: message in a bottle

its a vast vast place
my freedom is thin
i cannot grow or spread my wings
an irreclaimable life
and im someone strange
the society i grew up in
is the cause and blame
as i look around for the path not walked
i find myself drowning in thought
yearning for peace and tranquility
i take my boat to get lost at sea
knowing my ultimate destiny
with weighted feet ill soon be free
i chose the time and i chose the place
no one will know my resting place
dont be sad at the thought of me
feeding the fishes in the cold dark sea

It doesnt matter who gets the bottle, what matters is what they feel and think when they get it...if it was you who got the bottle, how would you feel?

Well it is a nice poem! It's full of sorrow and pain and ending with what might be suicide?

Thanks

and your right, it was the suicide note i was going to leave in a bottle. it was a long time ago, i suffered from psychosis and despair ridden i wrote that. thank god i didnt, life is good now, time heals all wounds and the human spirit resides in us all and is strong in the face of despair. for those who couldnt escape despair and took their own lives, god rest your souls.

Well, I think it's a very good poem, and I'm glad you didn't follow through! It's nice sometimes to look through old poetry, it's like reliving an experience and realizing what you learned from it and how far you've come. You're very expressive, very good work thumbsup.gif

It is a good but sad poem. I am very glad that you did not go through with your suicidal thoughts and that times are better for you now. I have had my times of despire, so I know the down times of which you speak. Life is better for me know too, although I still have to take a blow from time to time. But, I've learned to roll with the punches, and I feel that the winds of fortune are now blowing in my favor.

I am not sure this will make you feel better, but you are not alone in feeling lonely. It has been decades since I have had a significant other, and for me, that is a very sad thing. But I count my blessing, as should you. At least you and I have friends. I have been visiting an social anxiety forum that I found online recently, since my problems have been anxiety attacks due to certain triggers. Reading the posts on that forum will put your social situation in a different perspective. I also at times get the blues, who doesn't, but there are certain things I do to make things easier. Thanking God or what ever deity you believe in for the little things is one of those tricks. If you've got food on the table, a warm bed, and a roof over your head, you're way ahead of a good percentage of the world. If you don't believe in any deity, count your blessing anyway. It does help.

Your welcome. No i don't mind. It's call social phobia world. I think I have it bad at times, but there are always people worse off. Here is a link to it. Many of these people's situations are sad to listen to because they often suffer from low self esteem and depression. One person I was chatting with was having problems because any time he felt a sexual attraction to a woman and was around her, he would get anxious and have to puke. So therefore his love life was obviously got going so well. Everyone's situation is slightly different. My triggers are relatively few, so I am able to have a reasonable social life, but it's not that way for everyone.
