Yes, they are fake. They are supposed to be fake. I made sure the auction says that they are made from clay to ensure that no one is deceived. I just thought you might enjoy seeing them as they are cryptid related. Have a nice day!!!!

You should be making those guys for a living, if you're not already. I bet you could find a pretty decent market for them.

I think you can make those at SeaWorld for like 50 cents or something.....she needs to get-together with the guy who made the "real" mermaid on e-bay that some nuclear physicist bought for $1550.00, together they could sell that guy enough to make a recreation of Atlantis.

another name for e-bay is "flee-bay"--everything is either fake or overpriced junk-- with inflated shipping charges! i think the ebay deal and pay pal must be run by the frangis from star trek !!--lol

There is a long tradition for this kind of thing, but instead of clay, the old fakes were made of real animal parts. Mermaids of this type go back hundreds of years, a accounts of buying mummified mermaids in oriental ports are mentioned in captain's logs.
Unicorn horns were incredibly valuable in medieval times before people realized they were from a whale and not a unicorn.
"Baby dragons" were made out of stingrays with the addition of other parts.
