Letters to the Editor
Dear sirs:
As malignant as it is to engage in the foul and coorupt, it is just as bad to be aware of them and not acknowledge it.
This past election was much touted as a "victory for the Democratic Party", which can be agreed with. A major problem with that, though, is that all elections should only be "a victory for the people"! The past two and a half decades have been a string of obscenely enriching successes for the gangsters who make up the criminal enterprise called the "Republican Party". They severely weakened unions. They stalled the minimum wage. They shipped in illegal aliens by the boatload. They outsourced work by the hundreds of millions of dollars! They granted their cronies fat government contracts. Most recently, their criminal pals in Congress passed laws that effectively ruined the chances of class action suits being effectively pursued and made it easier for crooked credit card companies to damage users' finances with hidden fees and usurious interest rates. There is also a law being talked about that would make it possible for food companies to lie about the content of their products without being liable for penalization!
In response, the Democrats have been little but an unqualified disappointment the entire time. For all their poses of providing opposition and oversight to Bush Administration criminality, the Democrats don't raise a great deal of confidence.
The result, as it always has been and always should be, is that the people be the force they can count on to fight corruption in government!
They must admit to themselves the craven reputation for lies this administration has created. "Mission Accomplished" and "cakewalk" and "greeted as liberators" and "Iraq's oil will pay for the American invasion and occupation" and "last throes" and "bacteriological laboratories on trailers producing anthrax" and "You're doing a great job, Brownie" and "planned Rumsfeld's leaving before the election" are only a few. How many times do Americans need to be lied to before they admit it?
They must acknowledge the recklessness and depraved indifference to human life demonstrated by the gang now handling the Oval Office. "Bring it on" precipitated the steady slaughter of American troops, while "It only takes one bullet" was the Oval Office's actually engaging in the criminal act of endorsing Iraqis to assassinate Saddam Hussein! How many times does a vicious, greedy malingerer have to play dice with Americans' lives before they admit that that individual is perverse and depraved?
They must recognize the utter unethicality of the Oval Office thugs. The United States cobbled a reputation of never attacking a non-aggressor nation. From Regan to the present Bush, the U.S. has been associated only with vicious, swaggering self-centeredness, bullying smaller countries while bleating constantly about "protecting American interests", but never once proving their supposed dedication to protecting other nations' interests!
The Democrats must only be a facet of beating back the pustulence that has afflicted the nation since the ascendance of GOP power in with Reagan's administration, but it must be the people who are the fundamental force behind it!
Among the most immediate things they can do is to realize the eminently suspicious, if not genuinely deceitful, nature of the most recent claimed events in the area of "terrorism", the swindle Bush has apparently utilized to attempt a dictatorial seizure of power.
On the exact same day, today, Friday, November 10, a tape claiming to be from the current leader of "al Qaeda in Iraq" was released and British MI-5 director, Dame Eliza Manningham-Butler claimed that British intelligence was aware of dozens of purported "'terrorist' threats" and dropped hints of atomic, bacteriological and chemical attacks in the future.
The tape, supposedly from Abu Ayyub al-Masri, referred to the recent Congressional election saying the American people “voted for something reasonable”. It then went on to claim that al Qaeda has 12,000 troops in Iraq, taunted Bush by calling him “the most stupid president” and saying “we haven’t had enough of your blood yet”. Dame Manningham-Butler claimed that British authorities are investigating as many as 1600 supposed Muslim militants in Great Britain planning “numerous plots”. But then, with a mawkish grin completely unbefitting the "threat" she orders you to believe exists, she says, coquettishly, “What do I mean by numerous? Five? 10? No, nearer 30”. If things are so serious, why is she flitting around the meaning of “numerous” like a flirt? “Al Qaeda has developed an ideology which claims that Islam is under attack and needs to be defended. The extremists are motivated by a sense of grievance and injustice driven by their interpretation of the history between the West and the Muslim world.” Isn’t it interesting how determinedly shills for Bush’s and Blair’s anti-Muslim mania demand that there is no plot against Islam, yet not once do they actually look into the history of CIA abominations in the Middle East aimed at destroying legitimate governments there?
Not once have al Qaeda tapes coordinated so closely in time with the events they describe! Previously, most tapes were no less than several weeks away from the events they described. This was only two days after the election it referred to! Supposedly praising the introduction of more moderate, more cooperative elements into American government, it then goes on to enflame them and challenge any chance of amicability! No matter what any of the shills in the Oval Office may say, this is not what insurgents or even “terrorist” provocateurs would do! If they wanted to encourage enmity, they wouldn’t have made a tape, then gone to the hazardous lengths of delivering it!
It bears a lot of similarity to the videotape ascribed to al Qaeda, only a couple of months ago, which claimed to show bin Laden discussing the attacks on the Twin Towers with supporters in the foothills of Afghanistan, and spoken wills by several of the “terrorists” aboard the planes. Among other things, that spurious and apparently CIA fabricated lie showed too tall, too lanky, too light skinned men who we were supposed to believe were Afghani “terrorists”. And close-ups showed hands whose skin was too fair and whose fingernails were too smooth and clean to have ever been in a desert purportedly constructing an al Qaeda bomb! And, since the film of bin Laden was supposedly taken before the events of September 11, when no military were searching for him in Afghanistan, why did he presumably discuss the affair in an isolated area?
If corrupt government is going to lie to you, it can help to be able to realize the contradictions in their stories! You have to recognize that individuals shown you are not Afghani, but Langley, Virginia jocks! You have to realize that a tape is too suspiciously current and deliberately antagonistic to the “insurgents” supposed goals. You have to realize when someone presumably warning about potential attacks does it in a flippant, diffident fashion! And you have to realize when events coincide too closely not to be part of a plan!
In fact, both the recent tape and the warning from MI-5 appear engineered from the White House and 10 Downing Street to try to maintain the dictatorial control by fear that political thugs have been working to drain the public dry with for the past half decade!
Not, it should be mentioned, that there isn’t danger! Evidence accumulates steadily that it was the Bush White House that was involved in the events of September 11, not the apparently mythical “al Qaeda”. Faced with the likelihood of investigation or the loss of his psychotic control, Bush seems more than willing to launch another supposed “terrorist” attack to force the public into whining cowering behind the “shield” he claims to possess!
But, then, the Democrats seem aware of Bush’s lunatic willingness to slaughter thousands to maintain power! There are troubling reports of Howard Dean, head of the Democratic National Committee, asserting that when they do find evidence of Bush and Cheney have committed crimes against the United States, “we will not impeach them”! The DNC evidently acknowledges that Bush has a raft of plans for killing more Americans in supposed “terrorist” attacks, and that he is murderously ready to do so, rather than be prevented from raping the nation!
But, then, when did anyone ever say the Democrats were anything more than cowards?
Filth. Trash. Vile swine feeding at the same putrid trough as the Republicans. And not likely to do anything that will seriously threaten the craven machinations of their brothers in crime!
There is, however, one fundamental aspect of the situation that no one seems willing to broach. Namely the fact that, as has always been the case, nothing lasts forever. Eventually, things likely will change, and very possibly in a way that will bring disaster down on those who denounced Muslims for their anger over their ancestors being raped by the CIA! A way that will ruin the lives of those who killed others, so a madman could steal their nation’s resources! A way that will destroy all hope of happiness for those guilty of not acting to end lunatic government! For those guilty of cowardly acquiescence to the administration, this future devastation will befell their children, making them suffer for the cravenness of their parents! Those who do nothing to handle this threat against legitimate government are admitting they don’t care how much their children will suffer their own stupidity!
The people must flood news editors’ and politicians’ desks with letters demanding the Democratic Party to lower the legal boom on this administration! They must demand a complete pull-out from Iraq! If any trouble did flair up, we could always be back in there in hours! There are so many people who don’t mind appearing so stupid that they don’t realize that fact! The public must demand that every Democratic Party worm who voted for the Iraq invasion be removed immediately, and their political offices filled by someone with a proven opposition to that act! If the DNC refuses to remove the filth who voted with Bush, all donations to that organization must be stopped immediately! If they remain on the ballot, the public should uniformly boycott the elections! The public must determinedly trim back all major expenditures, to starve the monster of corporate power of its life’s blood. And they must deny it teeth and claws by refusing to allow their children to enter the positions of men with guns, the military, the National Guard and the police!
Just because someone wants to rape you doesn’t mean you are obligated to allow it!
