No offense but I don't understand what your saying...i don't know tech terms.

But I do know this. Video games are region locked, which means that a japanese PS2 game won't work on an American or European PS2 or vice vesa. If you own an American PS2 you can only play American PS2 games and vice versa.

Unless your talking about PC games, then I have no idea.

SWAP MAGIC VERSION 3.6, is a disc that you can buy which apparently allows the ps2 user to bypass the region codes rather than mod chiping your playstation computer....these are for jap/ntsc and even pal... you can buy an slide tool with it or even a new body work ps2 case with attached flip-top on it...they are well know to work but very little is given away to pal buys and its pros and cons.....its just that quite a few games dont get released over hear in the uk and the ps3 will come out next year so i'd rather just import the games instead...games like Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3, and wild arms and many more just probably will not see the light of day over hear..... happy.gif

^ I have not used swap magic since version 3.4 I would just get my PS2 modded, I would suggest get a person who modded a PS2 plenty of times unless you want to risk doing it yourself.

Oh and i don't know if you know this but Sony is cracking down on imports to Europe. Sony had a U.K. court shut down Lik Sang and is probably going after other importers in the near future. So you probably won't be able to get those games anyway.

please dont say that.... crying.gif

have you played naruto 3 using a swap magic....does it work....ive seen it being sold on amazon and various other sites it should be fine at the mo cause it only applies to consoles at this present moment in time....thats why i need to find out.....theres no one around my area that can mod my ps2......ages ago there was....even shops but it was illegal so people stopped doing it even shops.....

this way i thought would be more cost effective...im not tight it just seems ideal...rather sending it off for moneys.....ive read all about it swap magic but it seems people just use copies and there all american, i only want to know if the thing works....people say do this patch that...."i think what!"

im no computer boff i cant do that.... unsure.gif

you sea us lads from the uk just want to let off some steam and av me time with something to take us away with the fairys.....and because my likings to a good game never get released over 90% of the time or i have to wait 8 frigging months i'd just rather get this thing, slap it in and "Bang!" thatz it but these magical cds just never come with proper information and there cans and cons hmm.gif

got any ideas thumbsup.gif

your right my friend the laws now are just plane right warped and dam right out of order you should see how much we av to pay for items in this rip off country...."never mind"

anyhow any one with the general knowledge to these criteria would be a god send and i finish work soon so your replies tomorrow would be greatly appreciated....at the end of the month i will still buy it in defiance anyway....Mwhhaaa... laugh.gif

Well thats the thing i got tired of swap magic because every time a new version comes out and when i buy one i find out i have to use this version for this said game or i have to use version 3.4 then insert 3.5 then insert a game etc. but that was a while ago. As for copies of swap magic i believe there is an option anyway to set it to whatever region your system is which I assume yours is pal.

I looked at the website it seems pretty straightforward on how to use v3.6. and it seems 3.6 is stable since it looks like it have not been upgraded in some time.

And no I'm not sure if Naruto 3 is compatible with swap magic it probably is, but i know for sure it most likely works on a modded PS2

Anyway a mod in the long run will be fine just hook it up and forget it, but mind this you voids the warranty.
