Hey Guys, I saw this link on coast to coast with George Noory and thought it was worth posting. Not sure what to think... doesn't really look like a dog to me

Looks like a mix bred of cayote and something along the line of fox.
belekor
doesn't llok much like a dog to me, though i don't know that much about dogs. could it just be some breed of rare wild dog. that could be 1 with mange too making it look even weirder

do you have a link to these photos, I'd be interested in comparing them. I'd like to do some personal research on some of these so called "chupacabra" sightings

Here is one link: Source

And a photo:

Interesting link and picture. It could be a dog/coyote mix, but that tail is what really makes me wonder about it. I've never seen a dog or coyote with a tail as such.

I guess according to the article we are lol
bobbidooner
That second one is really creepy looking. I don't know if it's genetic mutation or unknown species, but I do know I wouldn't want to meet up with it in the dark woods.
bobbidooner
Maybe it was the same as this?

Naw, i don't think its the same. In another article on fox news, they had a picture of that maine animal and it didn't look like the animal in the other two posts mentioned in this topic.
belekor
ok, i've changed my mind about it being a wild dog, something about it just doens't look right, apart from anything it's colouring just looks completely unnatural. I know animals have brown fur but i always though that their skin was pinkish undrneath (correct me if i'm wrong), it also seems to have a really small head compared to its body.

has anyone got a pic of the animal off the fox news article?

I thought I had heard that it was just a dog, but I can't find anything online to officially claim it.

Looks like a big chow to me.
fawkes2
they should have taken some samples to see if the dna matched any known animal .
capoeiranger
My biggest bet : African Wild Dog. Though I don't know yet why it ended up in Alabama..
sadistic jellyfish of doom
Looks like a manged Mustilid, like a Pine Martin or a Mongoose. Although neither belong in Alabama Arkansas.
snuffypuffer
The article said it was Arkansas. yes.gif

lol, I just noticed that I said Alabama... good pick up puffer
belekor
if it was some species that didn't belong in Alabama/Arkansas (whichever it was) maybe it had been kept as a pet or as part of a collection but then escaped. Could also explain why there ws only one of them and not a whole family or pack.

and isn't it a bit big to be a pine martin or mongoose!
RachelM
The first thing that came to mind when I saw the pic was this:

IPB Image\

The former ugliest dog winner. A Chinese Crested Hairless.

That is one ugly dog.
What the heck happened? Rat + Dog?
DelVal Paranormal
That is one ugly looking dog in that picture... hmm could be the same
belekor
blink.gif blink.gif that thing is ugly! does look kinda similar to the animal in the pic though, does anyone know if there are other similar breeds to this? or what size it is? it seems we may be close to solving this one! thumbsup.gif
RachelM
The Chinese Crested only gets to be about 13 inches tall. Although, I'm sure there are some that get taller than expected. But this dog, the hairless Khala, gets to be about 20" tall. It can also have the gnarly teeth like the crested.

The Man/Woman who owns this dog(and hasn't bothered to put it outta it's misery...yet) is a GENIUS...just think...you could put "almost" anyone or anything next to that concentration of homeliness and look like Jessica freakin Alba or Johnny Depp....Genius I tell ya.

Unfortunately? this dog has gone on to that great kennel in the sky.

Hopefully it didn't breed before that.

laugh.gif .....It's gonna bring-down the property value.... wink2.gif
DelVal Paranormal
I really wonder how many of these hairless "ugly" dogs were let go into the wild when they grew out of the puppy stage and their owners noticed how bad they really looked. If that is in fact the case, I bet these breads of dogs account for most chupacabra sightings in the states.

I think you may be right. I can't imagine anyone purposely owning one of these dogs, and they do fit the description of the chupacabra.

Jason - brown hair, hazel eyes, about 6'2", medium build?

No, I don't know him, and I promise I won't hurt you as long as you obey my every command.

And people doubt there's another dimension. grin2.gif

What? Did I miss some sort of fluctuation in the matter of the universe?
kiddglock
It looks like a dog that's been skinned out. Sometimes, if one is run through a Swather (machine that cuts hay and crimps it), they'll come out like that.
