Lately, I have been cleaning out some old and useless programs from my computer and removing games that I no longer play in order to free up some memory sapce.

My hard drive before clean-up had about 70 gigs free, but after I uninstalled a whole bunch of games, which totaled about 10 gigs, I noticed my unused hard drive space stayed the same.

Is there something I'm not understanding? Where did the memory go? Any explanation would be appreciated.

That is strange. The only explanation I could imagine is if maybe you had the games installed on a seperate partition or drive? I don't see why it would be needed as it seems you have a large drive. Can you account for all the drive letters when you go to "my computer"? Meaning C should be your hard drive, then there should be letters for your CD/DVD drives, memory card readers, etc.

Otherwise I'm stumped. blink.gif

How many drives do you have? If you have more than one you could be accidentally checking the memory for the wrong one, I know I've done that more than a few times.

Check that you uninstalled the applications properly, instead of just deleting their shortcuts.

You could always try downloading some computer diagnostics software to analyze your computer, that might help you keep track of everything going on.
