I will not continue this, because you are willfully stubborn. Pointing out cases of religious violence (which we all admit exist in abundance) does not prove that most killing is the fault of religion. The two totals are not even close. The vast majority of killing has been the fault of atheist philosophies. The matter is not up for debate. It may make a nice slogan at atheist conventions to say that "religion is the cause of most murder" but it is a false statement. There are many things about which thinking men may disagree, because the available data do not weight significantly in any one direction, but this issue is not one of those.

I'm very religously. Thanks.

And I it is open for debate.

I can easily point out where millions of people have died because of religion.

Show me where atheist's have caused mass murder on that scale, and I will shut up.

Mmm...i dont know how to interpret this...because of my language issue...wonder what do you think of this:
STEVEN GREER

Reportedly plagiarizes the UFO work of others and sells as his own, sells do-it-yourself ET contact kits - now you too can steer in extraterrestrial spacecraft with a flashlight and never record them just like Doc Greer does. Made claims of contacting extraterrestrials through meditation. Claimed that U.S. military forces attacked a Colorado ET base inside a mountain using nerve gas, no evidence to back claim. Had dinner with CIA Director and spun tale of having briefed CIA Director about ETs for hours. Hosted press conference with credible UFO witnesses on Capitol Hill - ruined it and his own credibility by selling the work of others with his name on it and using bogus witnesses. Allegeldy attempted to charge Washington State MUFON members $2500.00 each to demonstrate how he can vector in UFOs - Greer got to choose the location and the time...mmmmmm.

Admittedly, I have stayed far away from this discussion, as I simply haven't looked into the project in detail. And the idea in and of itself is good, having a site with all the government witnesses and their reports.

However, on the other hand I find that Mr. Greer seriously hurts himself by some of the more outlandish claims he has laid name to. And as with the that particular link you posted on the dinner party with, among others, James Woolsey, it does raise the question where else he has been "inflating" information. Again, I do not know the answer as I have not yet looked into his claims in detail, and as Morrison I would rather not offer my opinion at this time. But I must admit that to me it does smell a bit.

How about World War II? That was certainly not based on religion and estimated casualty numbers in the Soviet Union (that was not religious by law) exceeded 20 Millions, military and civilian.

Up to 50 million in Stalin's USSR alone. Communism is officially atheist.

Greer also ruins his credibility with talk of "become spirit warriors for Gaia", claim of talking to planets and telepathic comminication.

To tell the truth, i dont care what greer believes. All i care about are the witnesses on show. I dont really care if greer has beliefs that i dont agree with, that has nothing to do with the people on show.

Not really the right topic, however, where have millions been killed due to religion?

I agree. It was the witnesses who brought me to reconsider the ET topic. But for the sake of the cause he champions, Greer ought to lay off the new age teachings in public appearances. One might even wonder if he is working for the people who are keeping the secret (if there is a secret). That would be a very subtle form of disinformation... for Greer to make the whole thing seem silly by sounding like Shirley MacLaine. This type of thing always seems to piggyback on the ET topic. There is no reason to assume that they are wiser in spiritual matters than we, or even that their intellects are greater. Time does not produce that. Aristotle lived nearly 2500 years ago, and we are neither wiser nor more intelligent than he... in fact we are probably his inferior on both counts, except for the revelations we have from God. If ETs are real, then we will likely find that they are "just guys" who have better physics books than we. They will be like Tripp (the engineer from the TV show "Enterprise") - grumbling at their equipment when it malfunctions. They are not gurus or "ascended masters" or cosmic guardians or the seeders of life on Earth. They are just explorers, with the same failings as men - if true ETs exist at all, that is.

I’d like to state that both Stalin and Hitler were insane. It wasn’t communism or fascism that caused the killing. It was their madness. It was not in the name of atheism that killing was caused, unlike many religious wars that killed in the name of God or some other religious idea.

Another thing, Stalin was obsessed with removing God and religion from the U.S.S.R because he didn’t want to compete with them for power. It wasn’t an atheist drive that he followed, he just didn’t want to share.
