the assembly building from a few miles away. the bg sand is what the crawler crawls on. the sand is 7 feet deep, becuase the crawler weighs THOUSANDS of tons. ONE link in the 4 tracks of crawler is one ton. the crawler gets 43 feet to the gallon grin2.gif

i found the whole place quite interesting. ive always wanted to visit the huge white building grin2.gif

so to make this a valid thread, whats your opinion n the center itself tongue.gif. they get less than one penny out of your tax dollar.

Thank you for sharing these photos of your trip. I've been to all the centers over the last 26 years of doing contract imaging for NASA. KSC is my favorite, since I love the hardware.

If you ever go there again let me know in advance and we'll get you where you want to go, and not in a tour bus. Much to see there beyond the base public tour, as you might well imagine.
