Yeah Right!! I recieved the following message from a forwarding emailer. I think I have seen it on breakthechain.com so before I forward I thought I should check!!

I was sent as a gif but I can't paste it here. The message is as follows:

Dear Hotmail user,

We understand you have recieved many messages concerning the closing of many accounts.

The rest I can't be bothered to type because I think the previous line explains it all.

What do you think?

It wasn't sent directly from Hotmail, only from a contact.

I looked through all the emails on the list and there wasn't anything from an email such as "webmaster@hotmail.com" it was from a kids email.

It was put together well and even had the msn/hotmail banner.

So, shall I pass it on or break the chain?

If it were to really close down, there would be no need for users to pass it on, they would do it themselves. The professional way.

if hotmail were closing - there wouldn't still be a "test the new hotmail beta today" image in the lower left corner of the header...
Lottie
I wouldn't pass this on. It sounds like a typical hacking ploy where, for example, they are trying to obtain info on your account as to hack it.

Just delete and ignore. If Hotmail were closing down it would be on the news.

I didn't think it was real. Ironically I recieved it a few hours after reading about it on breakthechain.com and I also recieved another one about a "New" virus which, again, I had just read on break the chain.

It seems that some people want world email domination.

It's not real, of this I'm positive. Bin it!

All nicely deleted. A little bit of my inbox re-claimed

Its rather strange really. I just read my email today and I got the "Life is Beautiful" email about the powerpoint virus going around. Its on break the chain.

I read about this hoax and I then recieve it. Kinda strange really.

One of these crops up about once a year or so.

I just tend to delete all chain mail even if it's from my own msn contacts onlyever read things from places i know. Best way really.
