sometimes just out of the blue ill close my eyes, and when i open them i see tiny purple dots that look like sparks, they just appear and then like 5-10 seconds later they disappear just as fast as they came. any ideas on wat this is?

do they look kind of like glitter floating in the air? if so I can see white dots sometimes... for what the dots are I don't know.. and I have not heard of them being purple, but it could be the afterimage like KingDrakethe3rd said... but the white dots I see I know are not an after image...

I'd say it's an issue with your eyes, but not a major one from the sounds of things. Ask your optometrist next time.

As for the white dots mentioned, those are known as floaters, and are white blood cells/dead tissue in front of or behind your retina. Perfectly normal and perfectly harmless.

Ahhhhhhhhh! Dead cells in front of my eye! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Are aftermirages also what happne when you look quickly at the sun and you blink and see strange dots? I know this are photons in my retina.

yeah it is my friend that can, at will, see them at night, I don't know how well he sees things in the day time... but I only mabey 2 or 3 times, over many many years, have seen them in the day time, but only for like 20, mabey 30 seconds... I have not been able to do it consistently... but I have seen them...

yeah sounds like you have an eye problem and i agree with angry crustacean go see an eye doctor (optometrist) and explain it to him...not everything can be directly related to metaphysics.

Oh yeah sometimes I can make myself see pretty swirly colors and if i focus hard enough they'll turn into pibtures...I think they are like conscious dreams...b/c i put myself in the alpha brainwave state when it happens...its pretty cool and pretty in general

I see white ones. They're very small and hard to focus on, but if I squint my eyes to blur my vision, their brightness makes them easier to see. Also while my vision is blurred, I can watch them, which has helped me see that they're not really sparks or lines, they're little white dots moving quickly, and they just have a white trail behind them.

Anyway, yeah, what is this?

yes they do look like glitter, and they are white sometimes.
