I think it's a wave of water that looks like a face.

you mean that flesh/red color spot? I think its blood from the fish they killed in the first photo.

I agree with the blood that just looks like a face theory. It's like trying to pick shapes in the clouds.

hmm..yeah it culd b that..but its not red all over its just on 1 lil spot..i dunno..its still creepy

My guess would be a combination of blood + foam, possibly with some help from photoshop. The first photo is the uncropped version and you can see the the man would have a pretty tiny head if it was real. Yet the cropped version shows a man who appears to have a healthy weight to him, definately not tiny. A larger version would help.

This photo was taken nearly 2 years ago. My boyfriend (the one in the photo holding the knife) worked on the fishing boats. It was late at night, out in the middle of the ocean, when he fell in the sea trying to pull in a marlin, trying not to get speared by the fish he pulled himself out and that is when the photo was taken.

If you look in the water near the marlin's fin you can see a face.
The photo was taken with your normal run of the mill camera, nothing flash.

I just showed that picture to my girlfriend Suzy Rorshack, and she said it's a cow wearing a hat while dancing a jig during a rainstorm.

One odd thing about humans is the inexplicable ability to distort an inanimate object or, as such, water, clouds, carpet, etc. into a facial expression.

Looking over at my carpet, I cant make out what looks like a goat...and there...my mother...I need to stop looking.

I am not saying that it isn't a face, but I am saying that you can simply distort something and expedite a small situation to the faculties of a big one. It's like a stain that looks like Jesus...or a pool of blood that somehow looks like...Jesus...


Why are we able to do this? Who knows, but I think it's because humans are innately social, thus creating the idea of visual facial representation on...inanimate objects.

That's cool you know of the origins, it is an excellent photo! Was the camera digital or film? Does your friend have any experience in photoshop that you are aware of? Did your friend point out the face or did you notice it yourself? Sorry for all the questions, it's rare to be able to see such a good photo and discuss it with someone so close to the source. The image is exceptionally clear for this to be pareidolia, though I agree that's the best explanation.

To me, and this is just my opinion, the face is to perfect. It is to clear to be anything paranormal. It really looks like it was placed there on purpose.
