Bogeyman
My 14 year old son has asked for a best of AC/DC album as part of his present.Only problem is there isn't one.
The guy in the store tells me the the double live album has all the best stuff on it....but live albums can be rough.
Seeing as i'm not an AC/DC fan i'm looking for advice on what the best album for a novice is ????
Thanks all
Saint
The live album is excellent - Family Jewels, it's called. What is it that worries you about the live album, that doesn't worry you about their music?

I am newly introduced to AC/DC and previously, after just listening to them, considered them wild druggies, but after SEEING this DVD the other night, I see they are quite ordinary blokes, with high octane performances and stacks of energy, but failry normal as rock stars go...

I'm not worried but Live albums can often be the wrong way to listen to a group you've just got into.
Sometimes also the sound quality of Live albums can be "Iffy"
But if it's the best seller in the store theres got to be a good reason.....................Right ?

'Back in black' is good, but the first album that got me into them was 'who made who' thumbsup.gif

Get the live album it is good and excellent for someone who likes their rock and roll for sure. Some bands however you are right don't fo live albums very well but AC/DC is one of the good ones. Also instead of getting just one album why not get him the whole discography.

I think they have a box set called Bonfire that would prolly be a good bet.

Malcolm, Angus & the guys for Christmas? Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! LOVE IT!!! wub.gif

The LIVE! album is great & so is Back In Black. Those are 2 good ones for someone just starting their colletion. Course I own all of their music. cool.gif

P.S. Didn't you guys hate it when Celine Dion (GAG!!!) did a performance of "B in B"? Go sing some freakin' song for a soundtrach & leave AC/DC to AC/DC!!!! devil.gif

The Live album is very good. Alternatively, Who Made Who is a sort of compilation with some new tracks but also some older classics (it was a movie soundtrack). Personally though, I'd go with Live - it has great performances of all their best stuff original.gif

(btw I'm somewhere in the crowd during Back in Black on that album grin2.gif )
