Clerks 2 was the best I've seen so far. Watched Pluse lastnight, wasn't too bad... kind of silly but what horror movie ever makes sense?

they seem to be the good ones unfortunately no oscar nods for these beauties

I very seldom like movies that the critics do. And i can't think of any movies this year that would be the typical nominees to be honest. It was a good year for funny, action, and horror, but little in the way of drama.

True but it was still a good year

2007-8 are looking like the year of the blockbuster with a heap of sequels and other action movies coming
jpalz
Besides the ones that have been already mentioned, it seems we've forgotten about Silent Hill and Slither original.gif
BurnSide
I don't think either of them really qualify for movie of the year. laugh.gif
jpalz
Nope, but Silent Hill can qualify for worst line: "Lookit me, I'm burning!" laugh.gif
Argen
Casino Royale
Dead Man's Chest
The Prestige
Hollywoodland

Casino Royale is one of the best movies that I've seen in a long time. Hollywoodland is kinda a sleeper movie, the kind that are usually favored at the oscars. The Prestige has a very well-written and complicated plot. Dead Man's Chest is good mainly for the special effects, and adding a few twists to the plot of the trilogy. It is also very good at being a sequel, by carrying over characters, themes, and jokes from the first movie but not too overtly.
Cadetak
Casino Royale

Clerks 2 was by far the best movie I saw this year. Kevein Smith pulls out his own heart, places it out on the table for all to see and then punches it around a bit for fun in this film.

Shocking. Brilliant. Lovely.

A story that needed to be told and 12 years in the making Clerks 2 finally allowed us "fanboys" (or girls) to close the book on the Viewaskuniverse and patiently await Kevin's next opus. I'm game.

Other than that Ice Age 2; the meltdown was pretty good.

Superman Returns was a pleasant surprise.

The Visitation was ok.

Graylady
1. Clerks 2 [I didn't even see part 1 and never thought i was gonna watch clerks 2]
2. Borat [ Yahweh, I never stopped laughing - to be continue]
3. Saw 3 [Oh Yeah, There was blood]
4. Ice Age 2 [waiting anxiously for 3]
5. V for Vendetta [Oh I missed those words "Mr. Anderson"]
6. Texas Chainsaw: Beginning/
. Hostel/
7. Hills Have Eyes/
. Crank
8. Fearless [Good bye Jet leee]
9. An Inconvenient Truth
10. many many more...

lol havent seen it yet heard its good waiting for it to come on dvd so technically it will be 2007 movie for me lol
jpalz
D'oh! Forgot to mention it. Really good film original.gif

I'll give Saw 3 the honor of having the nastiest scene of the year (the surgery), though there are others that come close, like for example the tanning bed burning and the nailgun scene in Final Destination 3.

This from a man with a pic of Chuck Noris.

Joint best films POTC DMC & Underworld: Evolution.

Close behind are Fearless, Munich and World Trade Center.

Funniest - Borat - Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan.

But there is a few films out there I didnt get to see and could have be up there.
