A few minutes ago I astral projected. I got the feeling again, like I get sometimes where I feel in my head, "I can astral project right now." I'll close my eyes, first I'll move my arms out of my body, then I'll sit up and float out. There's only one problem, I can barely see anything. I know I'm out of my body because I can feel myself floating around. I can see some things, just not very much. It used to be just completely black and all I could see was the faint white glow of my astral body, but this time it had a red tint to it and I could see a few things.

I couldn't see my physical surroundings, so I'm not sure where I went, but I just tried to float up, and I think I floated out of the roof of my house. I saw an orb of white energy kind of looking at me, so I put a shield of white light around me and it floated away. I moved around looking at stuff, I could see different things in the distance of this red place. The last thing I saw was this square, it was at a distance, couldn't really place a physical distance on it, I just knew it wasn't very close to me, at least it didn't seem like it was. Well I stared at it for a while and then I realized it got harder to move my astral body so I opened my eyes physically and snapped out of the astral projection.

I have astral projected before where I could see things very clearly, but that was always durring a lucid dream. I know it wasn't just a dream because of what effects I caused in the physical world after I woke up. It sounds strange and you COULD just pass it off as a big coincidence but I know it wasn't. What happened was while APing I tried to turn on 4 lights in my house and got discouraged I couldn't turn them on. Well, when I woke up and tried to turn these lights on each one of them burnt out at the first flick of the switch.

I'm wondering if any other people who AP have had trouble seeing durring it. It seems to me like the sight is getting better and I'm starting to make more things out. If anyone had any tips on how I could speed up the process of seeing durring it though, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've experienced the same problem. I have wasted many successful projections on stumbling around in the dark, unable to make out anything. I have heard people say it is because you're not opening your 'astral eyes', but I disagree with this; I feel it is simply a lack of clarity due to your consciousness not being fully 'tuned' to the astral plane. In a way, like you would tune into a radio channel. Anyway, I managed to solve the problem using a simple affirmation method. After exiting my body I said firmly "Clarity, Now!." And to my amazement it worked. I recommend you try it.

I've never actually tried acid. I really hope it's not in the water supply either.

I assure you I'm not on drugs when I AP. I've been told tripping and AP isn't a good idea because it will cloud it and you can make yourself more vulnerable.

Heat, next time I AP I'll try the self affirmation.

i think i aped once.

This was very recent about a month or two ago. I havent posted it because I am really not sure and I don't like false hope original.gif

I was asleep and then I woke up in bed and i felt like I was not in synch with my body somehow. I recognized this as a prefect time to try and get out of my body, which before this time has proved impossible. I simply rolled over. Funny thing is that I was about 5 feet off the ground, and I didn't realize it lol. I hit the grond pretty quickly, but it didn't hurt. the bad thing was that I could not see anything except darkness, AND colorful dots everywhere. red yellow and blue mostly... Just floating all around in the air i guess.

I have heard that you have to get some distacne from your body or it will pull you back in. MY first thought was to get outside. I knew i was in my room so i just moved to my window and went through the glass. Then I lost consciousness. Then I started dreaming again. Then I woke up.

I have also dreamed of aping, but I knew those were dreams. This felt real, very real.

I too have never tried LSD, though i am not sure I would say no if I had the chance. Thing is I really don't need it. I can get into a really nice state of mind and just dream while being awake. Hallucinating all over the place lol.

yo, opus magnus, i have been wondering the same thing. Sometimes i have this hard tug in my foot or stomach when i almost fall asleep, i feel as if the tug was tha my soul
went out of my body. When i try to move my body, i cant. This happens all the time. I have the feeling that i am outside my body, but i cant see anyting.

Mr.Dot
It sounds fun to be able to "astral project" on command. I have had AP's several times and it was cool. I guess it depends on how good you are at imagining it using your photografic memory and more. Can be fun tho, maybe im gonna try some before sleep tonight. tongue.gif However it wont matter what you believe it to be.

What im saying is that you might not have so good photografic memory or you are not so good at using it. Maybe you need some more training.

Try astral projection if you do not know your environment wink2.gif Might not turn out to be what it seems.
MakeshiftSage
Try being aware of your "Third Eye"?

And btw I've taken lots of acid in my younger years and never saw anything but tracers from lights. wink2.gif

I can't really do it "on command." Sometimes I get the sensation that I can, or if I get an episode of sleep paralysis I can usually do it.

Easier said than done! I guess the point of this thread was for tips on how to keep the third eye open completely while astral projecting. It's kind of like floating in the dark currently.

I haven't been able to get a good astral projection since I made this thread, so I haven't been able to try any of the advice I've gotten so far. I can't wait until the opportunity arises for me to use the self-affirmation technique Heat suggested.

You can keep your third eye open by bending over. ohmy.gif
Astral plane "whoever came up with this " can easily be explained by your DREAMS......yep....dreams.
I can prove dreams....every night you have them.
Do you really think you go to another "plane"?

The idea of the astral plane has been around for millenniums. Nobody came up with it, it's there. Like nobody came up with our universe, it's just here. Unless you believe some creator created it. I don't expect you to understand it unless you have done it. You can try to explain it by dreams, but I don't believe that is so. No, I don't believe I "go" to another plane, we're already in that plane. We just don't notice it during normal consciousness.

There have been scientific experiments that actually have pointed toward the existence of it. There's a famous one, I can't remember the name though. I'll look it up and post it.

Ganzfeld Experiment

That's the one. It's not necessarily about astral projection, but more along the lines of telepathy. There's been other experiments of astral projection, if you want you can look them up. I'm not in the mood to search for them at the moment.

Yes, opus. I've had one obe where my vision was semi blind. I've read others have had blindness at times too. Hope this helps...

Laying on my bed I felt I could project... partly because of how my body felt and because I heard a woman's voice in my head (my bed was in a basement at the time and was very quiet)
She was telling me how I could prove astral projection was real, but none of it registered, as her voice was faint and I was in semi-shock of hearing this.

All of a sudden...I heard a loud loud sound in my ears/head...quite similar in tone to a phone dialing. I thought sounded like techno, and almost like the sound neo heard when he entered the matrix, only backwards. Instead of fast and moving to slow like in the movie...the waves of sound went from slow to fast at a perfect climbing interval, but at the same pitch.

Then once the sounds climaxed I floated out of body and heard no more.

I had sight for a split second when I left my body but my vision became dark, but as I felt myself still floating I had to guess where in my room I was.

Then I felt myself float in one position and I looked down and saw a faint image of a "pentagram" looking symbol with an S in the middle of the circle. The S looked like the "Starter" logo.

I know wierd...but it was a cool experience. But the wierdness didn't end there...

When I returned to my body after a few seconds of looking at the symbol, I wasn't hearing any sounds, but the pillow seemed to breathe, for lack of a better word. I could feel it move up and down a few times with my head on top and arm below...I may have been in "sleep paralysis" during this but after about 4 pillow breaths I got up quickly to look down at my pillow and all was normal. This was a very strange feeling.

The "electronic" sound,
The dark vision leading to the "pentagram"
The pillow breathing,

were all very strange and awesome experiences which i've only had then. nothing else has even come close to being similar.

I have sort of a similar experience that just happened last night. Very strange night for me indeed. The astral travel when like this though, I found myself being drawn to some house somewhere. I started walking towards the door when everything started to get dark. Eventually I couldn't see anything. I tried the self affirmation thing, but it didn't work. I could tell I wasn't oriented and felt my head hit something wooden. The confusion made me decide to snap back to my body.

I've noticed a lot of times when I come out of AP I am in a state of sleep paralysis.

That techno music part also reminded me of something in my very strange and some lucid dreams last night. I was hearing this techno song, that I knew, but now awake I don't think I know it. Anyways, it might have been a song I know playing backwards, but it was saying certain things in the lyrics that had great significance. I remember thinking that when I wake up I'm going to have to listen to the song more closely.

Oh! I remember. In my dream it was playing backwards because I remember thinking that at the beginning is where the significant stuff is when you play it backwards. I almost think the song is by KMFDM, but I'm not sure...
