This has happened to me a few times, falling asleep on the phone for long periods of time. What happens is my girlfriend and I are both really tired, so we both just kinda fall asleep on the phone talking to each other after a while. Well, what happens to me is really strange when this happens. Everytime it has happened I'll get a wicked, I mean really wicked episode of sleep paralysis. Even before the SP kicks in strange stuff happens.

Sometimes when it happens I won't realize I have fallen asleep, or am even getting an episode of sleep paralysis. This is because somebody keeps talking to me on the phone. One time it was a woman, whispering really softly, but I made out some of what she was saying to me. It was really strange. It proceeded to having an unreal mix of dreams in an episode of sleep paralysis. After it was over and I woke my girlfriend up, asked her if anything strange happened to her, she says no, strange things still happened. I was completely woken up, five minutes after waking and hanging up the phone the beer cans in my room (drank the beer days before this) started ticking. I mean all of them started ticking like someone was trying to make a song, then when I looked at them they stop. I say, "I know you're here, you might as well show it," then one of them starts ticking again. After it stops I just think to myself, "That was weird."

The last time this happened, the falling asleep on the phone, was about a week ago. I had been up all night with insomnia, so I called my girlfriend at about 9 AM. The first thing I noticed while awake is I could hear a lot of voices in the background of our conversation. I ask her if she hears it and she says no. I didn't think much of it because she was on a cell phone and we pick up other people's conversations a lot on it. Well after talking for a while, we're both really tired and fall asleep on the phone again. Again some lady is talking to me a lot, not my girlfriend. I am semi awake at this point trying to figure out what is being said. I notice eventually that I am experiencing sleep paralysis, a really wicked episode. It felt like something was trying to crawl in my mouth and down my throat, forcing its way in. It felt like static was trying to go down it. Well, I think of the white light around me reeeaaaally strongly which actually stopped the whole episode of SP all together. Again I ask my girlfriend if she noticed anything strange and again she says no.

I've also noticed if my head is near a TV when I sleep it triggers really wicked episodes of sleep paralysis. This is why I don't keep a TV in my room anymore. I don't know if this counts as anything for these experiences, but after SP a lot of times I am able to lucid dream really easily. Well in a bunch of my lucid dreams I am talking on the phone with really strange people who are telling me things. Things that affect my life, advice and such. Sometimes they tell me things to watch out for, sometimes they say stuff that is really strange that I'd rather not share. One time I got this guy on the phone that sounded like he was suffering from an episode of sleep paralysis himself, and the stuff he was telling me really has my mind wondering about certain things.

Anyways, has anyone else had these experiences with electrical appliances?
boorite
I haven't had this experience.

A researcher named Persinger has done a lot of work on the relationships between electromagnetic fields and odd perceptions like the ones you describe. A TV gives off a pretty strong EMF as appliances go. Something to think about.

I do think the possibility exists that you have actually communicated telepathically with other entities. Have they ever told you something you couldn't have known, which you later verified? Have they ever told you anything that turned out to be false?

I have a feeling that psychic phenomena are a lot more common than most people think.
Opus Magnus
Yeah, they have. My dreams do that occasionally as well though. It's usually symbolic though, and not straightforward. A lot of the times I don't realize what they meant until after the event happened. I'll get stages of similiar dreams for nights on end, wondering what the symbolism means, then something will happen that matches up and it was so clear.

I've heard a little on the EMF fields being able to recreate alien abduction experiences and the like. I'll have to do more research on it.

Can you give some examples? I'd be interested.

EMF sources that attract to your energy. Somehow it triggers SP I believe. What else comes along with that, well, you would know more than I.

But I am curious about what you know..

How can anyone fall asleep like that?

I'm wide awake, constantly thinking.. I couldn't imagine my mind tiring down while occupied with another activity.

Ok, this one happened not too long ago. I kept getting a dream where there were 2 pursuers after me. They would chase me in my car an then the car would crash and I would get out and run. There was always this girl with me while I was running from them. They weren't all the same dream, but the girl and the 2 people chasing me were in each of them. In one of the dreams I saw this kid that kept saying to me, "In two days she will come." Well, two days after that dream nobody came, but it didn't mean two days after the dream. He also said after i chased him down to figure out what he meant he said, "Oh I think the cop wants to talk to you." I was thinking, "What's going on?" because I had done nothing wrong.

Also in one of my episodes of SP when I was on the phone and getting it someone else started talking to me on the phone. She said a lot, but the main thing I heard because it was hard to hear what she said was, "There are 2, and the other one."

Later 2 of my friends got into a car accident, luckily none of them were hurt badly, only the car.

Well, 2 days after their crash I got into a car crash myself. I skidded off the road when the car locked up and stalled and went into a ditch. It was a pretty bad crash, but I wasn't hurt besides a concussion. While I was passed out at the wheel I was dreaming or something, but this girl kept kissing me on the cheek saying it'll be fine. Well, the cops and ambulance came, but no ticket was issued and the insurance covered the crash. All I have to do is pay the $500 deductable.

Now there's a lot more details to the dream, and to what they meant in actual life but I don't feel like sharing them. Some of the details are very personal and frankly pretty embarressing.

Well, I've been diagnosed with narcolepsy, but a strange concotion to it is I've also been diagnosed with insomnia and hypersomnia. Usually when I fall asleep like that it's when I've been up 30 hours or more with no sleep. The narcolepsy doesn't really make me just pass out, but I display symptoms of it. I'll sort of go into a trance, like half asleep when I'm awake. I'm still concious and I can snap out of it, but sometimes if I let myself stay in that state for too long dreams will actually start to happen. Also I experience sleep paralysis regularly and my sleep cycle is messed up. Sometimes I'll enter REM sleep right after I fall alseep. Every once and a while I wake up from a strange dream just 15 minutes after I had laid down to go to sleep.

Sounds like you're describing prescient dreams and communication with discorporate persons. Both phenomena have been demonstrated under controlled laboratory conditions. So you're not experiencing something crazy or impossible.

It might be fun to try a remote viewing or mediumship experiment together online. See what we got here.

Another question: Do you have any experience of what some people call "spirit guides?"

How about past life experiences?
Opus Magnus
How would we go about doing the remote viewing and mediumship online?

Yeah, I do have a spirit guide. Although a lot of times it seems he's off doing his own thing. I've had contact with him a few times, a lot more when I was younger. I think I might have another, not sure though. I've seen it a few times.

Past lives I'm not sure of. I think it's a good possiblitly though.

That's exactly what I think.

Narcolepsy can cause people to fall sleep in the middle of doing things...

It's not like it happens on a regular basis. Only a few times when the conversation was pretty boring, I was really tired, and usually had just done something exhausting and was relaxing. I've just noticed, everytime this has happened, a total of 4 or 5 times I think; I get a really wicked episode of sleep paralysis. As soon as I take the phone away from my head and hang it up my sleep is fine.

I get sleep paralysis quite commonly, but when I have certain electrical appliances next to my head the SP is just f-ed up.

I just brought my TV back into my bedroom to try it out. I could notice the difference of it being there the first night I tried to sleep with it back in my room.

I'm not sure if this could have any relevance, but my room is peaked, like a pyramid. The walls around my bed are shaped in a strange manner, like they could cause some sort of rebound effect with EMI. I've also noticed at some parts of my wall, under the surface in certain spots is some kind of metal, and I'm not sure what that would be used for. The metal doesn't seem to be placed in spots that would help the structure of the wall or anything, it's just like a thin coating of it.

Have you looked up infrasound?

I read that page on another one of your posts on another thread. It could be, the last time it either felt like static electricity, or maybe infrasound waves were trying to get in my body. The only thing is, why would infrasound trigger sleep paralysis? Also, would a turned off TV create infrasound, or would a phone?
coldethyl
Well you could have a source of infrasound from say a fan that was interfering with you. Or even from a minor quake or some natural occurance like that.

Just a suggestion trying to help out. thumbsup.gif

Sorry so long in responding. I wanted to give it some thought and was away from keyboard for a week.

There are procedures we could follow for doing controlled, double or triple-blind experiments, but I think initially we could do something way less formal and see if the results impress us enough to continue. We could conduct the experiments by private e-mail.

I'm thinking that maybe it could be on the subject of mediumship. I could have someone here, someone unknown to you, "sit" for a reading by you at a given time. You would see what impressions of deceased loved ones come through to you, note them all down, e-mail them to me, and we'd count up the hits and misses.

For remote viewing, same procedure, except the "sitter" would go to a "target" location at the given time, and you'd note your impressions of the target.

Again, these two methods certainly aren't very rigorous, but they'd make for good preliminary experiments.

Does this sound like something you'd like to do?
Opus Magnus
Boorite, I sent you a PM.

Hi, I believe your story, it seems like you have a gift, that people know how to reach you from the other side. And give you advice. While you are sleeping. I think that is really great. A little spooky, but cool.
Opus Magnus
Thank you annalaura, and welcome to UM.

Oh, oh, can I be the person he's reading???
