That's awesome! I remember listening to a clip about a radio station that had a contest with the grand prize being a hundred grand. They asked the winner what he was going to do with his hundred grand prize.
"Buy a new truck. Buy some new clothes. Maybe buy a Rolex, I don't know." (or something like that)
Then the radio guy was like "Wow, dude how are you gonna do all that with a candy bar?!"
"What?"
"Yeah, you won a 100 Grand candy bar!"

It is a bit cruel, as far as jokes go. Waitresses, in general, don't really have the time to put into extraneous events, such as beer sale contests, and having people put out an effort like that, and then give them something else is a bit much, regardless of your sense of humor. C'mon now, this was not misunderstanding. This was intentional deception. Granted, it was a deception intended to be humorous, but it is hardly the type of thing someone would be expected to laugh off.
