ive been thinking...is it posible to train to astro project AND control it???
Opus Magnus
If you mean astral projection, then yes. There's a big thread on it in the metaphysics forum.

I could tell you how I do it, not sure if you'll be able to do it the same way as me though. I get sleep paralysis quite frequently, and during those episodes if you don't panick it's really easy to get out of your body.

Another way is through lucid dreaming. I've done it through that a few times, but lucid dreaming also takes a lot of work to get good at. I have a friend who learned to astral project by practicing lucid dreaming a lot when he was in jail. He would get a reoccurring dream there and started a dream journal and eventually learned to control his dreams.

Now actually sometimes for me it just happens. I'll get a feeling that I should astral project, so I close my eyes and do it. First I bring my arms out of my body, then I sit up and float out. I'm still not really good at it, and I'm having trouble seeing during it. I'm starting to be able to see more though.

It takes a lot of practice, and it took me years to be able to do it at all. I'm 19 now and the idea and will to do it has been running through my mind since I was 12 years old. Only recently have I been able to do it on will.

He was in jail, not prison. Lucid dreaming is when you realize you're dreaming and can put some control over it.
incarnatehellraiser
ahh right i see, that would be cool. sometimes i have lucid dreams where i have control....any way back to my question, how do i practice astral projection>?
coldethyl
Do you have any industrial strength super glue?
shaunomenon
Search for astral dynamics on google. You may have to pay for it but it is worth it but you must be 100% willing to do it and let go of any fear you have. It may take you a week or even a few years to get good at it.

I can do that, but only sometimes. I can do it when I'm awake too. well, when I'm daydreaming daydreaming. This guy I talked to on another site said that there was some astral plane and that there are strange beings there. If it's true I wonder if they can come here the same way we can get there
coldethyl
I don't think so.

When you're body is in a very relaxed state, you can get some very weird feelings and if your body is sensory deprived you can get weird feelings and hallucinations. It's neat, but it's not an astrial dimension. thumbsup.gif

That's interesting, Americans still think of jail as being short term and prison as being long term?
Whereas the rest of the world think of being behind behind bars as the horrid clink.
I've had some odd feelings while half awake. I mean disappearing down a paralysed downward spiral that never seems to end. No drugs required.
And with that I finish my drink, kiss goodbye to the morning sun and disappear into a dead dream, the unconsciousness of astral splendour.
Pity the owls have stopped hooting.
coldethyl
explorer, you're one wacky cat.

In the States for the most part jail is just where you go locally when you're first arrested like before trial and prison is where you go after sentencing and if you've been charged.

<off topic> Where are you anyway? I lived in England for almost 5 years.

I'm way Down Under.

Coldethyl is correct in my opinion......a dream is a dream.....sometimes it feels like you are in it but................its a DREAM.
There is no astral plane.....its a dream.
Dreams are strong but you remain in your bed whether you think you are or not.
Btw.....who is the brainiac that coined the phrase?
Who coined the phrase "astral travel'.
A good dreamer I'm sure.

I'm not exactly sure on the years, but I think in America jail is for 4 years or shorter, any incarceration after 4 years you go to prison. Jail and prison are very different.

Not wacko enough if you ask me. Aren't you a card more than the full deck yourself? More interesting.

Swampgator, how can you be so sure? The feeling of falling onto your bed, couch, floor... at speed then suddenly waking for instance. It may be just a mental experience, but of what? Some say that it's a sign of having left the body for a bit of astral tourism. We just don't know. Best to keep an open mind ready for the moment that splits your concrete reality down the middle.

Try youtube, you should be able to find something there.

There's a lot of websites out there will offer free advice on astral projection and lucid dreaming. You could also search these forums for it. There's a huge selection of books you can find on it too if you go to your local bookstore.

A tip I can give you is self affirmation. Every day a few times say to yourself, "Tonight I am going to astral project." Say it over and over, out loud, or in your head. Self affirmation really works, and is used in a lot of therapy techniques. You've probably heard of the thing where people have low self esteem and they are told to look in the mirror everyday and say something like, "I am an excellent person."

A good way to help you lucid dream is to start a dream journal. Keep a journal next to your bed, and every morning or afternoon or night or whenever you wake up write down you dreams in it. This helps you remember and understand them more. When you right something down it goes through more senses, your sense of touch sight, and triggers more areas of your brain.
