Author JK Rowling has revealed the title of the seventh and final Harry Potter book.

The book will be called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

The announcement was made on the writer's official website. Fans must play a game in order to find out what the title is.

This week Rowling, 41, revealed how she has gone back to writing in cafes - as she did 13 years ago when starting to write about the boy wizard.

She has also admitted how she has been dreaming of the character.

Writing on her website she described it as an "epic dream" where she was Harry and the narrator simultaneously.

'Elated and overwrought'

In a recent blog the writer said she has been working hard on the last book.

"I'm now writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more," she said.

She also described feeling "alternately elated and overwrought" at writing it and joked she cannot decide if she wants to finish it or not.

I wish she'd stop toying with us all and just get the book finished already. tongue.gif

I have read everybook, and the last five I have in hardback. I'm finding that each book seems to be getting darker, thus I wonder which of the main character's she will kill off. Also, I think Dumbledoor is not really dead, but faked it and will return in the next installment.

I heard that after the seventh book, she's going to write about Harry becoming an Auror and growing up. So in the the future, we may have titles like:

Harry Potter and the Magical Mortgage
Harry Potter and the Evil Bank Manager
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Unpaid Bills

Anyone think of any more? Please reply...

My dad just told me. It's probably the most confusing title yet. 'Hallows' are 'religiously blessed people,' and 'Deathly' means 'like death.' Harry Potter and the Religiously Blessed People who are Like Death. Lol.

Rowling says that Dumbledore is definitely dead. Sorry to burst your overly-hopeful bubble.

She says that she is not going to write anymore books. Rowling also said that she is willing to kill off Harry Potter so no one else makes anymore. hmm.gif

But, some dedicated fan will probably write about him coming back from the dead as a zombie-wizard or something like that.

Whatever the story, I hope they don't make another movie out of it. Harry potter movies are such a bore!

"Unfortunately, she probably isn't going to write any more HP books."

Thank God! is all I can say!

"Rowling also said that she is willing to kill off Harry Potter so no one else makes anymore."

She will never kill off Harry Potter if she wants to keep writing. She's not creative enough to think up another character.

Harry Potter and the Parole Officer
Harry Potter and the Apparating Passport
Harry Potter and the Illegal Immigrants

Harry Potter and the Mid-Life Crisis?

Glad it's coming to an end theres only so much you cna do with a character before it becomes boring and over used. For me Harry Potter should finish after this book and to be honest she will never hve to write again with the amountof money she will have made from Harry Potter, and also she could easily go on and write 10 or 20 more average books and still make a load of dosh.

Still glad this is th elast one love reading them and watching the films but this one should be the finale.

I'll bet that Harry gets killed off. Just a way to make it nice and finished. Although if she does kill him off, I can see a Misery plot happening tongue.gif

I am not sure if I like the title of this book. I am sure it will grow on me. I imagine 'the Deathly Hallows' are to do with the Horcruxes.

The Harry Potter series ends with the 7th book and the 7th movie...but George Lucas said the same thing after Return of the Jedi...and Revenge of the Sith. There are new Lord of the Rings books comming out.

How long can you deprive a geek? Will it all end at 7?

I am sure that Snape will be one of those characters who will die. After his death everybody will understand how good he was, that he was actually a double or triple agent, and so on, and we will have a very touching ending.

I'm not so interested in what happens to harry after year 7. What I'd like to see is a prequel. A book with Hagrid, Snape, Tom Riddle, Lucius Malfoy, James and Lily Potter, Sirius Black, all of these guys still students at Hogwarts also.

JK rowling has said "I think that by the time you have had the seven books you will know everything you need to know for the story." no more books. no prequel. nothing.
