I've been hearing from various political pundits that if Saddam Hussein is indeed executed, it will really be a Saddam lookalike:the real Saddam Hussein will be secretly reinstalled as leader of Iraq to restore order and put an end to the so-called civil war.

the saddam on trial is definitely a double-- the interesting thing about the saddam hanging is that it will evoke credence to a certain nostradamus quatraint-- he has a prohecy pertaining to the hanging of a king

If Saddam is to be reinserted, then why go to war in the first place? The US et al. will leave the nation and have accomplished nothing. Unless, its to set up a permanent base with which to strike Iran.
Which quatran is that about the king?

Well, let's see, schools have been reopened as schools and not weapons caches, same for hospitals, people now have access to the outside world through satellite television and cellphones, things they were not allowed to have under Hussein, people were allowed to vote with a real choice not "Hussein vote Yes or vote Yes" Hussein's sons' reign of terror on young Iraqui women is over. More homes have access to electricity and potable water....
Yeah, only "a whole lot of death."

No matter what any of you say, the military, political crap aside, IS trying to make things better for the citizens of Iraq. That's all I've got to say and don't want to discuss it further because civilians are completely ignorant as to what is happening in Iraq...

the REAL unexplained mystery on this site, more so than the Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, UFO's, ghosts, etc, is the amount of folks who support the bush administration and their "war"...

Any true leader would never let themselves be taken alive. He was pathetic.

Better a live coward then a dead hero.
A dead leader is useless.

People make you a martyr, you don't make yourself one.
Which would imply the role of leader has been given to someone else.

Point is, and it wasn't aimed directly at your statement; Saddam was used as a martyr while he was imprisoned and on trial too..So all this talk about him being sooooo important as a martyr since his execution is all fairly irrelevant..
He'll be used by people who want to use him alive or dead. So we may as well execute justice on a personal level without worrying about that particular consequence..

The only time I heard about him being a martyr was from the people in the media. I never heard anything about people using him as a martyr. But then again I haven't watched much TV lately.

I'll just join this reply. Support the troops! Saddam is swingin from a rope thanks to our military people who are still willing to fight for what is right and iraq will emerge a far better and stronger nation because of it.
Thanks troops. OAO!

Unfortunatly hanging him was a mistake, his followers will take retrebution for this, there is no doubt about it, yesterday the news stated it is now 3000 american soliders dead. and there will be more, those in charge should know this and take steps to ease the situation not add to the fire.
The IRA once made a public statement that they would never target the english royal family, because it would make them martyrs and they could never win a war if they martyr them.....
Sad but true
