When I hit the quote button and then go to the next page to finish reading the replies in a thread, when I hit "add reply" the quote I'm trying to quote from the previous page of the thread isn't getting quoted for me.

Does this make sense? Is this just me?

Thanks in advance.
Saru
Make sure you have javascript enabled on your browser, if you have more than one browser available try it with a different one to see if it still happens. It could be an issue with the one you are current using.

I tried quoting a post in a thread and then went to the following page, when I hit 'Add reply' the quote still appeared inside the post despite being from the previous page. I tested it on IE 6.0 and Firefox 2.0, and it worked on both.

Okay, I'll give it a try w/ a different browser. But I never had the problem before, it just started.

Also the issue that was happening where the last read blue dot wasn't going to the last read, started happening to me too. I'd click on it expecting to be taken to the last read and it'd take me to the beginning. Weird. Anyhoo, I'll try your suggestions and see if that helps!! Thanks!!!

Just to let you know it's working fine for me today.

I dunno, yesterday I was having loads of weird issues, but today's a - okay!

Thanks!!

That's good to hear, glad it's all working properly for you now. thumbsup.gif

Don't think this is the same problem, but it's still to do with quoting. I just tried multi-quoting (have been able to previously) but only the quote in the post to which I select 'reply' would display in my post.

Here are the actions I tried;

1) select quote from post A; select reply to post B - only quote from post B shows.

2) select quote from post A; select quote from post B; select reply to post B - only quote from post B shows.

3) as above; select addreply from base - no quotes show.

Tried reversing the order of the first 2 and only the quote from post A would display. Am I missing something or has the multi-quote function changed?

Cheers.

Forgot to add, I do have javascript enabled.

I have recently had some problems with attachments, i select one to upload but it waits for 3 minutes and then says i have not selected a file. The file is under 10mb and most of the time it works, it just randomly rejects attachments. wacko.gif
Ideas?

I think if you use the 'reply' button underneath a specific post then only that post will be quoted in the post screen, in order to include other posts for which you've used the 'quote' button, you need to use the main "Add Reply" button at the bottom of the thread.

What file type is it and what size ? The system will reject any file over 250k in size.

It does indeed. Could have sworn I tried this combo but got no quotes appearing. Oh well, I blame either fat finger syndrome or that I'm completely bonkers w00t.gif

Thanks SaRuMaN. thumbsup.gif

errr, duno if this is the right place for this but i didnt see the point in opening another thread if i could find one with the right title...

No biggie original.gif . I'm having problems with quotes in my post. Whenever i try to send a post with more than four quotes in, a message appears at the top saying "sorry too many BLAH BLAH" of the sort. I am unable to understand why this happens considering that other people send posts with sometimes 10 quotes in. Whats going on? Any ideas?

NICE ONE thumbsup.gif

The maximum number of quotes that can be added to one post is 15.

Can you copy and paste the exact error message that you receive ? Thanks.

Cheers for getting back to me so quick...OK here it is:

THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
The number of opening and closing quote tags does not match. Please fix this to submit your post.

My post has got 11 quotes in it.

Thanks for looking into it SaRuMaN MUCH APPRECIATED! original.gif

oops, hmm, i see, i shall just double check the tags in my post to be sure, i'm sure i got them opening and closing in the right places though, i'm quite careful about that sort of thing...is there anything other than there openings and closings that i might have gotten wrong? When i do a quote i copy the code and close it with [/quote] that is right yes?...cheers
nn23
HA HAAA, yeah, it was as the error stated, i guess i needed to see it in black and white to take it in properly, sorry for the bother chaps thumbsup.gif

An Invision Board patch was implemented between those two times, must be a bug in the latest release.
