-Okay! Okay! So, now the Xian Missionaries came out with a "Pidgeon English" version of the Bible...BOTH New & Old Testaments...
But when They had to "Translate" the meaning of "Wealth" to the PNG Natives...They had to use something that the PNG Natives associated with Wealth...
& that is?
PIGS!!!
Now, don't You think it'll be a bit confusing to the PNG Natives to read "Pigs" as Wealth, in one part of the Bible & then be told "NOT TO EAT THEM" in another part of it?!
Teach a simple Native to read & He'll think You are a "G#d"...Teach Him to read, the Bible & He'll come away thinking that it's the GREATEST Book, that He's EVER read! Be-cauzzzze...it's the ONLY Book, that He's ever read!!!
I'm a bit peeved, actually...years ago, well..Decades ago, an Australian Author wrote a Book called: "The Jesus Scroll"("A Time B*mb for Christianity" it proclaimed on the cover)I read it & Loved it! I was convinced that JC came down from the Cross & died at Masada! Of course, at the time(1970s)Everyone I told about it, called Me a "Commie-Hippie-Weirdo"!! Now? Thanks to Tom Yhanks..."The Da Vinci Code" is being discussed thru-out the known World?!
(Hey! I LOVED Him, in:"Big" I had a similiar experience as a kid in Sydney's "Luna Park"-Coney Island with the "Madame Zolar" Fortune Telling Gypsey Booth-NO Bull!)but, what about "The Jesus Scroll" & to a lesser degree: "The Passover Plot"?!
Humpf!

Pigeon English [perhaps a corruption of business English],
an extraordinary and grotesque dialect, employed in the
commercial cities of China, as the medium of communication
between foreign merchants and the Chinese. Its base is
English, with a mixture of Portuguese and Hindoostanee.

You know, I've been on and off computer most of today and the title of this thread caught my attention, but I didn't open it because I thought it was yet another "soon to be closed" bomb. Low and behold, at this hour, it's still open for business. Or posts, as it were. I never heard of the term "Pigeon English" before this, so I had to look it up. (See, "no Duh!" link above)

But I don't see a conflict with the PIGS thing. Think of it not as a bible, but as a new giant Chinese restaurant takeout menu. Where, before there were revelations, now it's Mu Shu pork with a side of fried rice. Book of Wok, chapter 3 verse 2. Thou shalt leave out the MSG! linked-image
