Interesting case!

I guess what "rings true" to one person, "rings fiction" to another. I especially liked the additional information as to what happened to the alien wreckage...it melted!

QUOTE
They were astounded to see that the queer object had melted, dissolved by the water like a spoonful of salt. Scarcely a vestige of it remained. Small, jelly-like pools stood here and there on the ground, but under the eyes of the observers these grew thinner and thinner till they were but muddy water joining the rills that led to the current a few feet away. The air was filled with a faint, sweetish smell.

Well as they guy said...the only thing he can verify is that it actually did come from a newspaper of the time.So if we take that as being true it makes this case very interesting indeed.
The fact that everyone had to get out of the rain is interesting because when they got back it was gone....so they thought it dissolved......but could the rain have been deliberately brought as cover ?...remember the UFO Coin ...Hmmmmm

Never heard of a UFO melting. What happens when they are flying and it begins to rain? Must have been some sort of self-destruct mechanism. laugh.gif

Never mind that, what about the ones going to the secret underwater bases rolleyes.gif , those bases must be nice and quiet.

More importantly, I've never heard of a UFO depends on a 'propeller screw' or 'wheel with a milled rim'. No doubt Leyden Jars and Jacob's Ladders were a part of the controls.

Wasn't there a thread here about how UFO technology mirrors contemporary science? Perfect example.
