My Mom is certain she has photographed an orb while her and my Aunt were photographing tombstones for family tree research.
The tombstone had a matt finish (like a cinder block or the side walk) and my Aunts camera does not have a flash because she broke it lol
Taken by my Mom

Taken by my Aunt on a seperate camera without flash

I know what I think, but what do you guys think?

hmm...my first thought is that it's just the sun reflecting off it.

I find it unusual. I don't believe it's the sun, nor the flash, IMO. It seems to remain in the same position regardless angle of camera. It seems almost placed.

Maybe. But I find it odd that the object is directly in the middle of the stone. The position its in is strange.

A tiny flashlight is not a substitute for a flash.

The accepted "orb" is usually more solid. This "orb" looks to much like a reflection...an orb that is "accepted"(I say that loosely) would be clearly visible as an orb..you wouldn't even think it were a reflection.
To me, it looks like the sun at around 3-5 o'clock.
Edit: Ha..now that I closely examined the pictures I read what you said about the matte finish. If it is like a sidewalk..the reflection is a little to perfect(that it is in the center is...coincidence). However...try shining a light on sidewalk and putting a box above it. The sidewalk wouldn't reflect the sun like that...at first glance it looked like it was a marble surface.
If you guys are serious about it..go out there and investigate yourselves. First try to debunk the thing...wait for the sun to move into position..shine a flashlight..have a car drive by with headlights on at that time of the afternoon(??......you never know).
If nothing else..I don't want to go straight to orb then either. Again, you could tell if it were an orb just by looking at it right away. This looks like a reflection.

Okay, I'm sort of creeped out, because my first name is Sarah. And then I noticed that you joined UM on Nov. 6, which is my birthday................
Other than that, I think it's just the sun, reflecting off the surface.

There definatly wasn't anything physically on the tomb stone for people thinking it was that, and it definatly wasn't a flash light lol I'm inclined to say it was the sun but it looks like a really cloudy/dreary day. Interesting though.

If you look closely there is a wee bit of reflected light on the last "A" and the "C" in "Isaac", which means that the surface of the stone is at least somewhat reflective. What time of day was the pic taken? I ask that because, to me, it looks like it may have been either at dawn or at sunset, which would account for the slightly dark sky and the fact that the (possible) sun reflection is lower on the stone.
Having said all that, it does look exactly like reflected light from a camera flash. Is it possible that the flash worked again for one pic and the photographer didn't realize it? Of course, if that were the case the photographer would have had to be kneeling at the time for the reflection to be that low.

My first thought was sun...but I am guessing that after the first picture was taken the second person moved into there spot to take the second picture. If so it would rule out the sun, since both blobs are identicle, with no sign the sun has moved. If you look at the pitts in the stone at the edge of the blob they are identicle. Also there is no evidence of a bright sun on any other object in the background, even the shadows are hard to find.
That leaves white paint that was somehow not noticed, unlikely.
Or a clear, reflective substance like varnish that has been placed there, can't think why though.
Or its a mystery and we should all run to the nearest graveyard and start snapping some pics.

I assumed it was the exact same pic just a bigger version

I don't really think it's from the sun either.......but I have to say that the more I look at both pics the more I think it is from the camera flash. It is exactly where the light from the flash would be reflected back if the photographer was kneeling when snapping the pic......and judging from the angle of the headstone I'd say the photographer had to have been kneeling.
