I once played with a singer in my old band who had a bad child hood. He lived on the streets for about a year. The mother's boyfriend kicked him out of the house. He would tell me stories that he can see multiple shadows move on the wall and he can see demons and they would attack him at night. Because of his childhood torments, this guy was a lyrical genius. He would make up lyrics on the spot while the band was playing. We recorded 'live off the floor' at a rehersal space and deceided to recorded this song that had a heavy sound. The singer improvised on the lyrics and mentioned demon and devil in the song. When i got home that night, the ride home was a trip. I don't know if i was hallucination because i got off the wrong road. The singer was with me and was also suprised on how we got off the highway and onto a different road. Anyways, my drummer calls me up after I dropped off the singer and he always plays back the recordings we do on the phone. I was on my cell phone and when the music was playing, the phone cut off for 10 seconds. At first i heard nothing but air then I started to hear weird noises like sort of whispers. Its like this. When you watch horror flick and when evil/devil is present, you hear soft whispers. When the phone line was normal, I was in shock and I asked my drummer, "did you hear that, the whispers etc........" He didn't hear anything and i'm still confused on why this happened and what it was. I don't think it was any static interference, because the whispers were pretty distinct.

Spooky Somebody may know better but if it was crossed wires I'd expect you to both hear the same thing.

Yea, spooky. The same night with me driving off the highway onto a different road subconsiously is another mystery. BTW I wasn't high on anything.

Have you ever gone back to see if you can find that different road? Maybe it was a timeslip experience

Many rock bands have been accused of backmasking. Some of it was relatively simple. Some of it was so complicated that there is no way they could have done it themselves-leaving the explaination of supernatural accompaniment the next logical answer. Some have suggested some of the music has the voices of actual demons on it. No doubt some of the rock bands either embraced or welcomed this before or after the fact but still some bands and individuals obviously did not know what was going on with their music. It sounds like this poor individual had been harassed by the netherworld for a long time.

This kid was and is being tormented by the unknown. He still says he sees things at night like shadows moving across the walls and demons etc.... I think he is sitting on the line between heaven and hell. He is facinated with the devil stuff but talks about greatness of god and heaven. I remember when i almost had a fight with him in the car on our way to band practice. He said he can hear voices in the back of the car. The drummer and I were like...woa. need to get out of the car right now!

Sure seeing a doctor might help him. But on a Artistical point of view. I would not suggest him see a doctor. If he's cured, he will lose his writing capabilities and this boy is a genius when it comes down to writing lyrics for music.

Well, first post in a very long time, but I felt moved to comment on this one.

Music, in many ways, is the closest one may come to the spiritual. There is a reason some of the best music in history was composed for Churches etc. It is not unlikely, therefore, that ghosts would choose to communicate through this medium.

I'm reluctant to say this was a timeslip, it sounds more like a simple 'zoning out', perhaps a residue around the lead singer. Whether he is really seeing demons or not, that's a whole other question. Lead singers have a tendency to be very dramatic and quite frankly can be unbalanced as well. Sometimes this is where their genius comes from.

I played in bands for years and, we used to catch quite a few EVPs etc while recording. The fact that you only heard the noises on your end of the line doesn't completely rule out a crossed signal. Cellphones don't work the same way as landlines, thus you could very well have been picking up another phonecall or even possibily a radio station (tho the later is unlikely).

that is freaky, is there a chance your phone somehow accidentally picked up a signal from somewhere else, like interference < (no idea on the spelling of that word)

I can make up lyrics too on the spot. Whether or not I remember them ten minutes later is th eproblem.

When you are writing/composing a song, record them on a tape recorder, cell phone or home phone voice mail.

After that last part, that guy would be a one-man-band.

I love your story... I heard entities at one point in my life were terrifying whispers and audible voices, when I was exposed to spiritual attacks. Maybe that timeslip-like experience opened the door? Have you seen the movie White Noise? It talks about EVP, a theory with some scientific basis on unexplained voices and pictures recorded in static on tapes and TV.

I haven't researched or experienced EVP-related events, but spooky stuff nonetheless!
