A tongue ring!? :o
That seems pretty painful! Doesn't it bother you when you're chewing or burshing your teeth (other stuff that involves using your tounge)?

Hi Snoopy :st
I think the reason they have flu shots is for the elderly and others who have weak immune systems, who might not be able to fight off the infection.
BTW, welcome to the forum :)

Dakoda - It's actually a tongue bar not a ring (see piccy of me on pixieassassins website
here - click on personal, then profile then my name), it wasn't painfull at all - ears hurt more, and it heals very quickly.
(if you bite your tongue hard, it hurts a bit but recovers quickly)
After a couple of weeks you get so used to it, that i t feels weird taking it out! You can eat and brush your teeth normally, though over the years, i have chipped a few teeth by biting on it by mistake!

About Shots,
In the Netherlans we had recently a huge national campaign to vaccinate everyone under 19 years. We where vaccinated against a virus that can cause Meningitis. An terrible thing.. I know two people who had it. One was a child of 2 years who is now (don't know the english word, damn.) Mentally Handicap or something like that. She will need medical help all of her life, she can't talk and hears very bad.. The other was a freiend of mine, he was 11. After 6 weeks in the hospital he left it unharmed.

Yeah, the majority of people who contract Meningitis eventually recover, but some will are left with "after effects (does your," or become disabled (<--another English word referring to someone with a handicap, Odin). The rash looks almost as terrible as it must feel! :s4
PS,
Well, must say--the tongue bar doesn't look half as bad as I thought. Still wouldn't pierce my own tongue if I had the option, though ;). I've had my ears done, and the nose is probably the farthest place below that area that I would ever let a piercing needle near.... Okay, I wouldn't mind my belly button done, either. 8)

Hmm, never though about piercing things.. If, there are a lot of places I would never pierce and absolutely not the reproducing machinery! :s2
