I read somewhere, maybe in the Fortean Times magazine itself, that there is a television program in England made by the people who publish the Fortean Times. Has anyone ever seen it?, and if you have, what do you think of it? Do you know if any of the programs are available by tape suitable for viewing in the American format?(NTSC not PAL).

Yes I've seen it, and it's actually very good. It's presented by Father Lionel Fanthorpe, author of many books on the Oak Island Mystery. The programme hasn't been on for quite  while, but I believe there will be a new series soon. It's broadcast on Channel 4, usually around 8 or 9pm.

The programme has a definite feel of the Fortean Times to it, and provides information and cases of weird and wacky phenomena, without taking itself too seriously.

I'm not sure if there are videos of it or not - maybe the Fortean Times website will have information regarding where to acquire such vidoes if they do exist.

Gareth,

Thanks for the response. The program was mentioned in their magazine. However, the website provides no information about it, although it has a link to a vendor in England that sells back issues of their magazine. I've entered an order with them for some earlier issues that I had missed, so its not a lost cause in some respects.

I can imagine what their program must be like if it's similar to the magazine. The publishers are not ones to blindly accept things at face value, their research is excellent and their magazine is the best source for articles and stories regarding anything and/or everything paranormal. Most of their reports are non-biased, although they are not afraid of poking fun at some of the truly ridiculous. They take a rational, non-sensational approach to reporting, but it isn't dull. I look forward to each new issue every month.

For those who are interested, here is a link to the Fortean Times website. Give it a look, it has an achieve of past articles that you can read and provides an overview of the current magazine available at the bookstore.

Fortean TV was on last night here in England. They've just started to show the repeats. Its on too late for me, but watching it for the first time a while ago, it was definately worth watching.
