Finding Omega
The search for completeness

Mike and Tom had been co-workers and friends for more than ten years and knew each other well. Mike had noticed something different about Tom this week, his steps were lighter he had a constant smile on his face and applied himself to his daily work as if it were a gourmet buffet.
Over morning coffee break Mike asks Tom why he seems so different lately. Tom explained that last Monday night he found the source of true happiness and love and his life was suddenly full of joy and excitement, he felt that he now has meaning and purpose in his life. Things were changing for Tom on a daily basis; he received a promotion in his job and was now dating the woman of his dreams. Mike asks if that was the reason for the change in demeanor of Tom. Tom explains no, that those things were a result of his find. He was reluctant to tell Mike the source of his happiness for fear of ridicule. When asked he would say “‘you would not believe me if I told you”.
Finally after several weeks of watching the changes in Tom’s life and attitude Mike pressures Tom into revealing his secret find and source of happiness. Tom, I have to know what it is you have found because I too want to have your kind of joy and happiness in my life! Reluctantly Tom explains that he has met a mythical entity called the Omega, a loving and kind being that exists outside of time and space that guides him on a day to day basis with sound advice.
Mike is not in the least convinced and believes his friend has lost a few cards from his deck. But just to be sure he asked were is this Omega can I see him and touch him? Tom replies No, as I said before Omega is not physical and lives in a dimension outside of ours but he is with us right now and you can talk to him as easy as you are talking to me.
Mike is positive now that his friend is definitely one slice of baloney short of a full sandwich. He demands that Tom show him proof of this invisible being. Tom I wish I could give you the kind proof you want, but I am sorry I can not.
For many months following, Mike avoided Tom at the office but watched fortune and happiness shine on his old friend. About a year later Tom had just returned to work from his honeymoon still wearing that stupid grin on his face and acting like he owned the world. Mike approaches him grinning from ear to ear “still in touch with your mythical friend Tom?” Yes and enjoying every moment of our friendship.
Mike has to ask one more time “Tom, show me the proof” reluctantly Tom looks into the envious eyes of his old friend and says “you have been watching the proof daily for almost two years and yet you are still not convinced that I have found any truth. ‘I am’ the only proof you really need.

1Co 1:20 Where is the wise? where is he who has knowledge of the law? where is the man of this world who has a love of discussion? has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

Many demand proof and receive proof daily yet fail to recognize it. They seek truth in substance yet truth is in spirit not matter.

The Omega is Satan right lol?

Great story reminds me of my own experiences, strange how whether its God inspiring you, or Satan empowering you, Krishna... Krishnaing you or Scientology freeing you it really does work for you. You being the common denominator here of course. Hhhmmm I wonder if it has anything to do with you?

If it is Satan that brings you great joy happiness and fulfillment on a daily basis, then stick with him. thumbsup.gif Because you are accountable to your own happiness, in this life.

If you’re good at reading between the lines you will go far. I personaly have ‘no say’ on who goes to hell, only you can choose that, besides it sounds like you already know the landlord. Give my regards to Old Nick if you see him. devil.gif

As I suspected, more threats from those who assume their beliefs affect the world, how conceited.

So is the unfinished chapter of this story that Mike finds his own inspiration and Tom threatens Mike with eternal damnation for not finding it in the same place he had? "Oh Mike I see you are as happy as I am now, too bad though cause you're going to Hell!" says Tom, "And JESUS IS LORD, YOU HEATHEN!"

Eleleth, nobody has threatened you with anything here, you are the one with a fixation on hell. You are the first one here to mention anything about hell. You are feeling threatened by your own imagination and assumptions. I even encouraged you to remain with what you believe is right because Omega can be anything you want it to be. Nothing in my story assumes my beliefs are correct, in fact I did not even bring up my beliefs, so how do you interpret that as being conceited.
You need to learn to relax without chemical assistance your beginning to appear paranoid.

Oh right pass the buck onto me. Oh yes you encouraged me to remain with what I believe if it makes me happy because I am accountable for my own happiness "in this life". I merely enquired to know exactly what this meant, in my style of course lol. I concluded that my assumptions were correct and it was a God is gunna get ya type remark. Of course then it gets put onto me as well as another jab masked behind phoney concern for my well being regarding something I can only assume you still hold an outdated, propagandized view on. So save me your Christian concern and I'll.... well its not part of my belief to give a damn or even pretend I do lol.

I loved the story though, with the final chapter of course.

Actually Tom was run over by the number one bus while prancing over the expressway; however the driver said he was beaming happily as he went under the front bumper.
Mike never did find Omega but found a winning lottery ticket while on the way to counseling; apparently he is miserable, filthy rich but absolutely miserable. thumbsup.gif

well put ...its funny how Mike is always watching Tom..how he noticed Toms happiness but couldnt believe his friend could reach such joy ... Mike couldnt see..but the whole time he was blinded because he choose not to believe that what he was seeing was work in action..day by bay he could see the evidence ...but it was too simple for him to believe, an that the happiness and peace that his friend had recieved was inviting him as well...poor Mike always watching his friend...when all he'd have too do is step in..

And I thought this was going to be about the omega variable that physicists are using to try and figure out the shape of the universe. Dang.

Amazing.....i have many people tell me that they don't give a hoot about God, Jesus, or any part of Christian beliefs but they hang on every word so they can twist the meanings just to beat you over the head with it....soe people sure work hard at not caring....huh?

Irish, you should be ashamed of yourself for attacking the poor non-Christians!! How dare you write a story where a person who believed he had a relationship with someone who only those who believe in Him can experience, was happy and gave credit for his joy and peace to that non-provable being? Don't you know you're attacking them by doing this? w00t.gif
Spurious George
I dont think Irish was attacking anybody with that article, how do you see it as such?

If it works for everyone whether Christian, Hindu, Pagan or Satanic is it really some outside power doing it or is it just you? I believe it is the individual making things happen for themselves, I also believe it is easier for people to believe it and accept it if they think it isnt themselves doing. In my life I have called this outisde power by many names, now I see it as an inside power and its name is ME yet it still works, perhaps even better. Now you can still say that it is God and thats just the way he works but what proof is there that its YHWH, it could be Zeus, Krishna or even Satan?

It is no surprise that the Church does accept that there are other sources of power out there besides God, they just group them altogther as 'dark foces' or 'Satanic soul-selling powers', so in a way they acknowledge the indivduals power they just label it bad or EEEEEVIL lol!

The Gates of Paradise

A soldier named Nobushige came to Hakuin, and asked: "Is there really a paradise and a hell?"

"Who are you?" inquired Hakuin.

"I am a samurai," the warrior replied.

"You, a soldier!" exclaimed Hakuin. "What kind of ruler would have you as his guard? Your face looks like that of a beggar."

Nobushige became so angry that he began to draw his sword, but Hakuin continued: "So you have a sword! Your weapon is probably much too dull to cut off my head."

As Nobushige drew his sword Hakuin remarked: "Here open the gates of hell!"

At these words the samurai, perceiving the master's discipline, sheathed his sword and bowed.

"Here open the gates of paradise," said Hakuin.

w00t.gif I know you'll appreciate this.

Also. Jesus leaves his teaching open to a reicarnation interpretation. "Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again he will not see the kingdom of God." It can mean two things. RIDDING ONESELF OF THE EGO AND VIEWING THE UNIVERSE AS GOD ITSELF or BEING BORN MORE THAN ONCE TO LEARN THIS FORMER LESSON.

That is my opinion anyway.
