The Acts of the Apostles: What Really Happened in the Earliest Days of the Church is a terrific read by one of my favorite authors--and one the world's leading Biblical exegetes--Gerd Ludemann. Ludemann (Göttingen, Germany) is professor of the history and literature of early Christianity at the University of Göttingen and formerly an associate professor of New Testament at Vanderbilt Divinity School. This brief discussion regarding primitive Christianity from 30 to 70 CE offers terrific insight into the earliest days of the Jesus movement. Enjoy!

sean,
Thanks for the link. Interesting stuff.
Made me wonder if the story of the resurrection is an allegory for the early Christian movement? This effectively 'died' when Jesus did, but was 'resurrected' when the apostles decided to carry on the work of teaching the faith (after the 'visitations').
