So the year before last, my boyfriend (at the time, now he's my Fiance ) and I had our first over-nighter at the Myrtles Plantation....Now we didn't get to stay inside the house itself, we stayed in the slave quarters towards the back of the property.

Now, the Myrtles plantation is supposedly super-haunted by plenty of different ghosts, There's the story of Chloe who was an inside-slave, she had been caught eavesdropping on the masters conversation, so he cut her ear off....and out of spite she poisoned and killed the rest of his family. They also have all sorts of colonial era soldiers appear, and the ghosts of the 2 children that Chloe has killed are said to haunt the house....among a few other things that I can't remember.

Anyhow the first time we had stayed, we went with a couple friends, nothing too eerie happened besides we got a couple of crazy pictures ( that I think my Fiance had posted somewhere on this website and you guys had debunked, although I still think theres something wierd about them haha) Our cell phones wouldn't work the entire time we were up there......probably because of the tower situations. So it was REAL hard to sleep that night, We even slept with the lights on....So we awoke, had breakfast and went on home with the only story being the pictures we had.

Now we went back a year later....and stayed in the Back rooms again, ( they are cheaper haha) We went back with my Dad and my sister....they stayed in the room right next to us. Now we didn't get any pictures this time, buuuuut......I had went to the bathroom, and since I'm a girl I put the toilet seat down. Then we left to eat dinner and when we came back the toilet seat was up. And Shannon swears that he didn't use the bathroom after me. (I'm not saying thats a ghost moving the toilet seat haha, it could have very well been a housekeeper or something) And the other wierd thing that happened was Shannon had went out to his truck to get something, now he is super anal about everything...so he always makes sure his doors are locked and windows up and what not. (And usually if they aren't locked, it's my fault haha) Anyhow, He had went out to the truck and we went on the tour of the house and when he came back, the back left hand side door was WIDE open with the doors locked. Now, i know I didn't go out to the car after Shannon had came back....so it wasn't my fault, and he ALWAYS locks and closes the doors because of the valuables he keeps in the car. And the doors were locked and he's the only one with a key to get in the car.

Hi Sweat Pea, thanks for the story. I have been there a few times since I lived on the property behind it. We had 5000 acres of our own land. I think it's the hypw of it being haunted that makes you hear things. I've even roamed the land there after dark.

I never ever get anything paranormal out of that place.

yea she really bad a telling stories right and im bad a spelling so maybe together we can get it right,,,the reason it was weird about the toilet seat was,,,,she went in did her bussinees walked out we talked for a few minutes i walked in the bathroom and the seat was up.wich any man that lives with women know thats just not right,,so i walked back out and asked her if she lifted the seat and she said no,,so the rest of the night we checked on the toilet seat,,it was funny bit nothing changed again.

now the truck i was so mad about that..we have a 2005 nissan titan.it has 4 doors but only one key lock. i hate nissan for this..now i go to the truck at around 1130 or so,,and the back door is open alll the other doors are closed and locked there was no reason for that back door to be open at all..no one broke in the windows wernt broken,noting was stolen my gun,the laptop,cash,xm radio was all where it was saposed to be..im not saying a ghost did it or anything like that...it just seems weird things seem to happen there,,the pics we took,the toilet,the truck door..all in the same place. i guess thats why we have fun going there to see if something is going to happen.but we dont look for things or make them up these are what happend the 2 times we went.

I actually got married at the myrtles and all kinds of crazy stuff happened. We went to visit got some interesting pics. We gave everyone camera's to take pics I haven't seen em all yet, but one of the pics something is covering my head. I will add a pic also to this. When we got back from eating dinner there was a funny smell in the house so we went look around the house. The room downstairs that's a bedroom (the one inside by the stairs) well that door was locked shut all day it is the only room I had no access too. well when we got home from dinner we tried to open that door and It just opened. In that room there was a noise like an open valve and lo and behold it was an open valve a gas leak. It was crazy. We stayed in the bridal suite. Sarah Sterlings old room the one where the pic i am uploading came from. she is the one who's husband was killed on the 17th step by and unknown shooter. It is said she died of a broken heart in that room. Anyway it was a beautiful wedding and I also have a link to all the pics from one of our visits feel free to look at em let me know what u think. congrats on the engagement!!!
