I guess that's why they say to each their own? Hmm, maybe some enjoy the endorphins that may be triggered by the limbic system which produces an overall sense of serenity (endorphins) from what you describe as "noise". The brain has a funny way of doing things like that, you know? And, yes, isn't a signal actually a noise anyway? How could you even have a signal without reverberation and the inclusion of noise which then would relate back to decifer the pitch and/or tone?
Life is too short not to appreciate the variations of all sorts of things.

Anyway, I guess this song would be perfect for right now...
Leadbelly, I triple-dog dare you to listen to the whole thing (noise and words)!

O.K. You have a good point. The problem is screaming (like I hear in some bands) can wreck your vocal chords. If they would not play so loud, they wouldn't need to sing that way. Just my opinion.
I referred to really awful music, when I said that. Not every group or performer is like that, of course. I generalized, and I appologize for that.
I do think though, that some music has a paucity of signal; or rather, musicality versus dissonance and random sounding percussive effects (like rap) mixed with unitelligable lyrics.
