[b]I've always wondered why all forums have a thread...'what are you listening too' as it seems to be a never ending conveyor belt of artists typed down with no discussion of the merits there of.

Incidentally for what its worth, I'm listening to Santana's 'Song of the Wind', I love that contemporary jazzy latin samba beat. How about you?

Why not discuss?

Wow someone with delicate yet respective taste.

Santana will be in Australia in Feb as part of his concert tour.

How old is he now? Be getting on now Id say.

On a more heavier note so will Iron Maiden and Ozzy Ozborne, be here next year aswell.

Anyone heard of N'fa?

I quite liked that song, actually.

Considering Imperiet are Swedish, I was just wondering if you're from Sweden?

Anyway, I'm currently listening to one of the classic goth bands of the 80s:
Fields of the Nephilim - For Her Light

Ah, no. But a very dear friend of mine who is from Sweden introduced me to them. I love Imperiet. original.gif

That song you linked in your post is also quite pleasant IMO. I'm listening to it now.

Ah, OK laugh.gif Imperiet is one of the bands on the endless list of bands I need to check out more closely (same with their precursor Ebba Grön).

Well, Fields of the Nephilim were a great band back in the 80s. Highly influenced by Lovecraft and Crowley (I think one of their songs actually sampled a recording of Crowley) and into ritual magick and such. The albums that have been released after the original band disbanded has been so-so (although the latest album is quite good, especially Straight Into the Light), the stuff they did in the 80s (like Moonchild is better IMO.

If you liked FotN, you might also enjoy Garden of Delight (which used to be musically very similar to FotN, but even deeper into ritual magick), Elusive and NFD (which actually consists of ex-FotN members):

http://www.myspace.com/elusiveno
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3joRdk8F_Q

(I didn't include the myspace link for Garden of Delight, as I don't think the songs on there are representative of their earlier output, but if you'd like to check it out, it's here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendID=82207641 ).

Now listening to the stuff Danzig were doing before he turned sh**ty:
Danzig - Mother
MadMachine
I bookmarked the myspaces and video, I'll definitely check them out later. yes.gif

As for what I'm listening to now...
Imperiet - "Peace"
In my opinion, this song is rather epic. Sadly I couldn't find a youtube video, so here's the next best thing:
QUOTE (IMPERIET - "PEACE" LYRICS)
Is it really peace that we want
Can we afford it's price
Do we really know for sure
That war is the worst evil of all

Then the voice of anger that rises high
Is crushed and silenced by the law
So that the voice behind the money wheels
Can spin faster and makes some more

So is it really peace that we want
Can we afford it's price
Do we really know for sure
That war is the worst evil of all

With peace comes the soldier that loosed
Thoose who stand up and fight back
Has to get back onto bended knees
And accept the victors peace

Is it really peace that we want
Can we afford it's price
Do we really know for sure
That war is the worst evil of all

At the peace comes the silent wave
And it cuts like a knife
And tribers and countries are split in half
And global trust has cleaned it's hands

Is it really peace that we want
Can we afford it's price
Do we really know for sure
That war is the worst evil of all

Are we really so sure
That war is the worst of it all

I think there are some typos in there, but it's not mine and I don't feel like correcting them. Hehe

Anyway, I found an old The Misfits video that I haven't seen in a long time:

This has nothing to do with your musical taste. But, I still see lots of tatoos and trash around here.

No shame shame will change that.

*SNIP* inappropriate content for discussion here.

Goes with the territory- trash art forms attract bad reactions.

What is with metal music, anyway? It is so gut-bucket!

Not one iota of decency.

Where is that "b****" song you were so excited about? You were saying?

This has nothing to do with your musical taste. But, I still see lots of tatoos and trash around here. And your point?

No shame shame will change that. What are you talking about???

*SNIP*. Never in a million years would I do something like that; in fact quite the opposite. What does that have to do with this forum and/or my post?? Why do you even bring that up??

She-Ra, I agree, this was inappropriate for discussion and has nothing to do with anything you posted

Lilly

Goes with the territory- trash art forms attract bad reactions. Are you inferring I am trash?

What is with metal music, anyway? It is so gut-bucket! Obviously opinions will vary I'm sorry if you do not like my taste in music.

Not one iota of decency. You apparently DO NOT KNOW ME. Please stop with the "ugly" replies to me. I'm tired of reading them. Thank you.

Where is that "b****" song you were so excited about? You were saying?

I don't know why you seek me out and target posts like this to me but here is the song I like...Meredith Brooks- I do not feel ashamed!!! Take me as I am!!

WOW!! Okay carry on everyone else...
