Cruise is Scientology's 'Christ'

Tom Cruise has been named the new 'Christ' of Scientology, according to the leaders of the religion. The Mission: Impossible star has reportedly been told that he has been chosen to spread the word of his faith throughout the world. Leader David Miscavige believes that in the future Cruise will be revered like Jesus for his work in propagating the religion.

A source told British newspaper The Sun, "Tom has been told he is Scientology's Christ-like figure. Like Christ, he's been criticised for his views. But future generations will realise he was right."

Cruise became a Scientologist after being introduced to the religion by first wife Mimi Rogers back in 1990. Since then it has been claimed that Cruise has risen to one of the church's top levels.

no problem, I too thought hmm this may be BS....one more thing It is reported that cruise is a bit differnet his beleifs, but from what my kid has told me and I have seen, he is actually a very nice guy , does alot of good things for others.... my kid he literally lives right across from it...alot of the hollywoood locals are into scientology, mainly the kids..... most of the kids I have met seem to be yet they can't really tell you what its about, i have been to the center too myslef asking about it but again its really vague, we think its a cult, and run very militaristically..hubbard was a lifer navy man.... they have their own community they have dorms( kids live there) and work for the common good of the idea...alot of focus is on personal responsibility..... it sure gets a good tongue lashing for being kooky..., they seem to have great issue wth medicating kids, drugs of any kind... the whole physciatry trip...this is about all I really know....

I'm reading a lot of jabber here but not enough Jesus, I respect your decisions to question Tom's messianic role but I cry for your souls and their eternal seperation from the divine Source. It is true there is no "God" in Scientology and therefore some question Tom's role as the Christ, but this is the natural progression that religion must take, we must discard these old concepts and accept the new ones, a new covenant if you will, that I'm sure Tom will be revealing to us soon. I don't understand why people bash Scientology. In most people's opinions its ideas are out there but not any less out there then any other religion. I think its because Scientology isn't an offshoot of a Christian/Jewish religion or an Asian type religion(Buhdism, Taoism). I also think Scientology suffers from being a new religion...if it was founded thousands of years ago I think it would be more respected.

I think it is brilliant the way scientology is uncovering alot of the twistered truths about psychiatry and giving this info to the public. Did you know that there is no evidence whatsoever that supports the claims that mental illness is caused by chemical imbalances??? Yet billions of dollars each year are made on selling chemical balancing drugs to cure people. Im not saying there are no mental illnesses but there is no proof it is a bio-chemical imbalance and I think it is dangerous to give people medication with possible bad side effects to mess with peoples brains which could turn out to do more harm than good.

I have my own spiritual beleifs and my own faith but i do thank scientology for helping people wake up to the evils and new laws the governments want to install about psychiatrists having the power to lock us up without our permission because they might think we have a chemical imbalance that they cannot prove.

Although I agree, medicine for mental illness' such as depression do work in a lot of cases. Of course who knows what the long term side effects are. It is also good to note that no tests are done to see if you have depression, a psychologist diagnosed me in the fifteen minutes that I was in his office(my parents made me go). I took the medicine for awhile and it had some interesting side effects to say the least. I didn't think i was depressed so I stopped taking the pills. My step-brother has ADHD and the side effects of the medicine make it so he doesn't eat...and he becomes so concintrated on what he is doing that he will start to do crazy stuff like take apart a table just so he can put it back together again.

It seems that just because someone has PHD automatically means they can look at people and decide in fifteen minutes that we
are mentally ill? Are psychologist psychic?

But one would then wonder, if there is no evidence of chemical imbalance causing mental illness, what does? If the body is a compilation of synaptic functions (electrical impulses) and chemistry, what makes for the brain to fire in such a way as to cause psychosis, depression, etc..? I think to it's important to reflect on the cause of Hubbard's disdain for the psychiatric profession. L. Ron Hubbard was a paranoid and a pathological liar. He was also prone to violence, as is attested by the court documents filed by a soon to be ex-wife, that alleged he beat her frequently.

Psychiatrists don't just treat people or kids rather with ADHD....There's alot of conflicting evidence regarding that matter amongst the community, be it scientific

The guy who filmed that wrote an anti-scientology acticle or something. The "church" responded by sending a couple of guys to picket in front of his house calling him a religious bigot ( theres another video of that episode). Hence they recognized him as an agitator when he shown up to their party.
