So What are your opinions about Area 51?? My Opinion is that place gives me the creeps.

Here's what I believe, based on some educated and informed guesses:
There are no aliens there. No UFOs. It's a testing center for innovative aircraft.
It's still very active and its mission has not been moved.
Why all the secrecy? Well, for one thing America is at war. Or have you forgotten? And for another thing, despite the end of the Cold War, there are still many countries that want to steal our secrets. Innovative, developmental aircraft are at the top of the list, no doubt.
There are many who claim it houses UFOs, aliens and such. Take note of who is propagating these rumors: in most instances, it's someone with a book, documentary or website to sell. These are hardly objective sources, they have a vested interest in keeping the issues alive.
It is often said that the UFOs and aliens were moved to, "top secret Dugway Proving Ground and its Michael Army Airfield in Utah."
This is laughable. At least twice a year the newspapers of Salt Lake City --- Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News --- and nearby Tooele, Utah --- The Tooele Transcript --- visit Dugway and tour the facilities.
Twice, NASA has used the hangar at Michael Army Airfield (where UFOs are said to be stored) as a temporary working area while NASA satellites landed in the desert of Dugway Proving Ground. If you watched CNN during the landing of the first satellite, you saw the interior of the hangar. It's empty.

But the writers and producers of Area 51 books and documentaries don't want you to know the above. Nor do the residents of Rachel, Nevada, who make a living off all the UFO and alien hubub.
Area 51 (or more properly, the Groom Lake Facility) has UFOs and aliens? Nahhhhh ... it's all hype promoted by modern-day snake oil salesmen.

This thread would do better in the UFO forum's...But sense you asked i think it's the government's top secret base for the use of alien technology, If you use the search engine you'll find hundred's of thread's here on the subject.....

Everybody knows where Area 51 one is...keeping Aliens there would be stupid. They can still keep new expiramental aircraft there because for one you can't really steal the technology by just seeing the thing in the sky...and you can't let a good base go to waste.

The Groom Lake facility probably does not recruit directly. My understanding is that it's done through Nellis Air Force Base, just outside Las Vegas. Government jobs are listed at www.usajobs.gov. I believe you can perform a search, specifically designating Nellis Air Force base.
Mind you, the applicant must have the proper qualifications. And be able to keep numerous secrets.
Somehow, I think nearly all of you would fail this latter requirement. <smirk>

Area 51 was a nice place for the US military to test their new projects with an almost unlimited budget and no federal restrictions. Unfortunately for them the general public is very much aware of the facility. Surely they still do testing there as they have moved the borders out a bit and maintain a tight security, but I would suspect they have moved their new testing facility to an as yet unknown location.

The reality is no one on this forum knows where the truly secret military locations are and if they did they would not share that information, if not for national securities sake but for their own.

I think the public should stop snooping around area 51. I remember when I was younger, and I believed that they must have aliens there, who would be a threat, and I remember thinking that if that is so, we should know about it, but now I understand the true purpose of places like area 51. If the government tells the public about every little scientific advance,we would have nothing to defend ourselves against the russians,or the chinese, as soon as they get around to getting a navy. I don't know whats in area 51, but I can only hope they have superweapons and that all these impressive stealth jets they claim to have made there are just the tip of the iceburg of the technological marvels they have. I don't like the idea of ever having a government too powerful for its people to rise up and conquer, but if it is the only way to enforce the sovereignty of this great nation, then so be it.

One must understand that there are other High Security Facilities, Navy, Airforce and Army that are completely off the grid, some completely underground - others not so much.

But i think Area 51 became to popular for anything ET' to continue on there(If it ever did), other technologies, or labs- Very possible.
Fact is, we only have the official story of what goes on there.
And i guess thats what we are forced to believe - The Top Secret US bases have some of the most Elite and unheard of surveillance technologies. Crazy really.

You would have better luck getting a answer out of the russians to be honest.

It seems rather useless in '07 since the Russians mapped and have spy satelites zoomed in on it right now. Maybe it serves as a American May Day parade to show-off and amaze the Kremlin in case they ever want to fu6k with us someday. Maybe in the future , America can master a Weather Control Device that can camoflouge areas like this and dump a bunch of W.M.D. chemical crap on Moscow with the rain [radioactive/chemical snow?].

Area 51 is not just a testing place for air force aircraft. Its due to aircraft with technology beyond what is told. Cmon be truthful to yourself.. do you really think their gonna tell you whats going on their and do you really think nasa is gonna tell you all information in public... their not gonna release private information out like that. Usa is not gonna tell you all information in public cmon. Do you think their stupid to show all on tv? Its the year 2007 and do you really think nasa hasent found evidence of spacecraft not from here in space floating around and then disappears. Right now the usa is at the top of the food chain in wanting to rule the world. They want all the power to theirselfs.

Area 51 is the goverments top (not so) secret experimental test facility for experimental aircraft, and other dangeous technologies.

I doubt there are alien craft there. The only reason the goverment don't say that there are no alien craft there is because, people saying they have seen alien craft at A51, is a great cover story for all the experimental aircraft they test there.

I think that if the government has incorporated alien technology into new aircraft, that is awesome. And I also think the public has no right to know. America will reign supreme, when our technology reaches a point that we can shoot enemy missiles out of the sky before they leave their homeland.

I am pissed off at our government for what they do at Area 51. I don't think it has anything to do with aliens. The thing that really pisses me off is how Area 51 is a non-area. They have deemed it as completely lawless territory. Nothing is illegal there. They can do whatever the hell they want to. THat means destroy nuclear waste, make people sick that work there, etc. I can't believe our govn. gets away with sh** like this. Now that should be what people are talking about, not the stupid aliens.

Whatever goes on at "Area 51" the U.S. govt. doesn't want the citizens of the country getting too close... Which makes whatever is going on there all the more intriguing. Forbidden fruit is always the most desired...
If the U.S. aministration told the public what goes on the curiosity would cease...imo.
