Well..this is a question for the artists in here..or maybe just for anyone.


I want to know what different colors mean to you.

For example, some people may see Red as anger, Pink as pretty, Blue as sad...etc. Usually these are great choices, but they're a bit different with me. Mostly I want to know what these three colors mean to you...you can post more if you want.

Green



To me:

Red- Sorrow

Blue- Happiness

Green- Loneliness




Now..my "meanings" may be a little odd. You may ask, "What does the color red have to do with sorrow?"

Well, I'll leave that for you to interpret as you post. If you come back to the post you may see that people feel just as strangely about these colors as I do...maybe stranger.

Red: Anger, passion, desire

Blue: Solitude, melancholy, sadness

Green: Envy, greed, value

Red.......beautiful like a rose
Blue.........beautiful like the sky
Green.......beautiful like the grass and forest

I always associate colors with numbers...

Red-5

green-3

yellow-7

black-10

and so on. Weird i know...

That's interesting. What about those numbers reminds you of the colours listed?

Red - Sliding like a ribbon, adventure, seduction

Blue - Open, innocent, breathing

Green - Vibrance, alive...

Yellow for some reason makes me think of a warning. I see a snake, one of those venomous ones with red eyes

Brown just makes me think of October

I like october.

Red: Hot

Blue: Cool

Green: Fresh

White: Pure

Pink: Soft

Black: Myterious

Orange: Halloween

I once took a class in Comparative Literature, and I learned the meaning and the importance of using color in writing. I think being very descriptive is one aspect of being a good writer; I've tried to incorporate this into my own writing.

Red - anger, fury, also love

Orange, yellow, brown - autumn

green - envy

purple - nostalgia, fear

black, gray - sadness, solace

pink - love, happiness

orchid, lavender - spiritual


I've also read the chakra chart and the colors which correspond to each chakra, but as hard as I tried, I just could never see the color green as representing love.

Yellow: warmth, wealth, cheer
Purple: strength, bravery
Orange: hunger, health
Brown: home, family, stability
Black: Severity

Red - Passion, favourite colour, warmth

Blue - coolness, ice

Green - refreshing, grass

Red : war, anger, heat, lust, passion, fire, female

Green : calmness, earth, soft winds, trees, peace, male

Blue : love, water, life giving, refreshing, sky

Red: love, passion, my fiancee (her middle name is Rose, her favourite color: red)
Green: Nature, spiritual evils, envy
Blue: Ocean, space, peace, calm
