Anybody here a firm believer in them? I am for one simply because all the myths and legends go back to the time of the romans. Plus not to mention all the sightings in europe, And there have been sightings in southern illinois which sucks for me and the sightings in wisconsin. The way i look at it is that there is alot of strange crap in this world and definetly don't rule them out.

This is a pretty common topic, you should look into other threads on the subject. As for me I beleive strongly in werewolves, but not the way most people think of them, its very complicated but they are real. They dont turn into hairy giant monsters though

Iv'e always been very iffy on topics like this. Can't completly rule out the possibility because of both Porophilia ("Vampirism) Hypertrychosis, (excessive body hair growth) and the legends , but with my skepticism i'd have to steer towards a big no.

Its kinda like my are Vampires real post. Do I believe in Werewolves? No. But I guess when it comes to things that are considered fantasy I have this modo. Seeing is believing. Until a Vampire, Werewolf, Dragon or anyother classic or modern mythilogical monster crosses my path I guess I just have to go with the my modo. Still the world would be interesting if such things were real. Think about having a curfew at night or when a full moon was present so the werewolves or vampires in town didnt get you. Or running around as a slayer and hunting them or something. Fantasy is fun but not real.

I would have to go with no on this one, there are other more valid explanations to werewolf cases, like excessive hair (which is well documented) these become myth and horror stories arise from such things. Combine it with mental illness or murder, this is likely the origin of the myth. Such a ting would leave something tangerable during an autopsy and physical evidence.

The Earth's moon affects tidal waves, and disoreints water. Human beings consisture roughly 75-95% water. When a full moon occurs, the moon will disoreint us, causing us to do things unaturally. Humans have actually howled at the moon when it was full.

Source?
It affects tides, not tidal waves there is a difference.

Sciences classes. But, I will find an outside source to prove my theory.

Levi's on the right path here. We've used the term 'wolf' merely as a verbal component to losely describe this phenomenon in lack of suitable nomenclature. Werewolves as shapeshifters simply cannot exist w/in rational, physiological/biological science. Ironicly a full moon does have a real contribution to the appearance of these things.
We may have gotten off on a tangent when considering most medical reasoning however. Diagnosis like Hypertrychosis as well as others either offers a tiny symptom or has no relavance at all and can cause us to spiral away from what is really taking place.
Naturally this schematic contains theories and well as mine as a whole, but with all the sincerity I can muster on this thread, I do believe there's a real scientific explanation here.

well my friend you have to remember that anything is possible..and if receptor sites can can with our personality..and one really believes that he/she is a werewolf it it possible for the hypothalamus to secrete the the needed receptors our cells are eargerly awaiting..this inturn and I imagine with great practice could eventually turn on codons in our DNA that have been dormant for millions of years...the mechanisms are there..we just are unable to turn them on...well most of us anyway....But I have to guess that you will probably never see a werewolf....they say you never see them coming.......

Erm no. That is not how it works, the molecular systems controlling you physical shape are set at fertilisation, you can not consciously control them.

As I have said I don't beleive its actually a physical transformation, just projection of a spirit form by a dark sorcerer..
