I am Autumn's ecstasy
I am ashen sky
The tangled vines of withered flowers
The sunset of October hours

I am shadows in the lamplight
Footsteps in the fading moonlight
The phantom soul who fades in cold mist
The echoed whisper of the dark kiss

I'm the rainbow in the midnight
The crimson haze that calls the twilight
I'm the devil in your window
Silhouetted in the moon glow

I am all that calls the dark side
Scarlet soul to push the deep tide
Gentle madness slides beside you

Nestled in the waiting fortune

Just a kiss beneath the full moon...

A secret kiss beneath the full moon

Down... down... down my darling

Down... in a whisper

Hi Glassvampire original.gif

I don't know why but I had a bit of a feeling of nostalgia when I read it. It's descriptive, and I think that's what characterizes great poetry. I'm curious to know how people feel as they write their poetry. When I wrote "December" I felt joyous; when I wrote "Marie", I felt disheartened and heartbroken for the lady Marie, and when I wrote "Crystobel's Plight" I felt very nostalgic. happy.gif

Did you feel sad, angry, nostalgic, or happy when you wrote this particular poem?

Very nice. yes.gif

Thank you for your kind words N.C. and Isis. original.gif

I wrote this poem a while back, Isis. After rereading it I guess what I was feeling was pretty full of myself.

No, I remember when I wrote this I was deeply in love with someone and I wanted her to know that I was something different. I was feeling dark and romantic and I really wanted to stand out because I always felt a little outside the herd, so to speak.

Something like that.

Very interesting. I think you can get more of a feel for the poetry too when you can see it from the perspective of the writer.

I agree with Isis .. better to understand and get a feel for the poem, when you know what the writer is feeling at that moment.

Thank you, Cruzer. I'm glad that you finally did see something in me that allowed us to be together and allowed all of the poetry to come through.

And after years of being apart we have finally reunited and perhaps the poetry will return to our lives.

Because as everyone knows to be true...

poetry, just like love...

never dies!

Vamp,

You are correct - it never, ever dies...

forever and forever and forever.

Thank you for the beautiful poems and the site.

It is a testament to the immortal words of Beethoven...

ever thine

ever mine

ever ours.

Never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved.

A Beautiful Poem GV, its so full of dark promise, and I feel that emotion of being on the outside threaded within it - loved it wub.gif thumbup.gif

To Ambriel and Themis,

Thank you for your nice words. This poem is special to me really because of that 'outsider" feeling of being something other than what's fashionable or popular.

I had always been more of a thoughtful introverted person when it came to my feelings and passions until I met Cruzer, who got me all excited about poetry. I had only just begun to write and I wasn't very good at all. But she inspired me and when I was finally able to tangle my thoughts together and produce poems such as this one, it made her smile and so I grew in confidence.

While building on my collection of poems as I was marveling in her happiness I secretly created the website "Tragic Vampire" all for her. It's been great!

The thing is though, that from that single feeling of being different... magic was born. And some things can grow without the light.

So who needs the sun when a single flame can burn so much brighter?
