Ok, This isn't really meant to be a serious thread but i was wondering what does everybody think if something like out of dawn of the dead or resident evil happened? Meaning the dead being reanimated. Do you think there would be mass hysteria and panic like there's always depicted in the movies or would people come together and fight to survive? And what would the outcome be?

I guess it could go in a couple of boards. And as hard as I tried to get it into a topical discussion, since it's admitted as not being a serious thread, I think the best place for it to go would be where it is moved to right now

Thak goodness for that!
But back to the original question, no, I think that it is highly unprobable.
How would explain such things scientificly, like how would they get the energy?

the world wouldn't come together, it would be every man for hiumself. But like the above statement, i would enjoy making my own headquarters/homebase, and roaming different buildings for supplies. There would a certain rush to living a life like that.

I think all the most important people in the world and any scientists who could actually help would be more intrested in to finding out how it happened . but i believe that many people would die but some would come together and fight

I agree that it would be every man for himself i know i would, But i wonder if it would be a scenario like 28 days later. If there's anybody who's seen it they know what i'm talking about.

Don't know.. Mostly in the movies it always comes about by some unexplainable virus, Or the judgement day scenario. Either way if something like that were to happen you can bet that it would definitely suck, Unless you had a good vehicle and at least six different guns, I'm talking minimum and a ton of ammo.

All I can say is "This is my boomstick"
Personally I would avoid any populated areas and leave the city, everyone will be raiding shops and malls etc. I would simply waith for all the zombies to rot until they are no longer a threat to me then go find non-parishables, radios, TV's, satellites, weapons/ammo and of course I would have to raid a military base and aquire a tank to cruise around in. Seeing as I am a certified helicopter pilot i would want one of those as well.

LoL! This is so amusing!
Firstly, I think both, mass panic would occur and there would be organised groups fighting to survive. Yup, I saw 28 days later and loved it. Looking forward to the sequel, 28 months later. Hope they don't screw it up as most sequels are.
And ROTFL when I was a kid me any my friends OFTEN fantasised how great it would be if zombies appeared. I've seen one too many zombie flicks, I'll tell ya that.

I agree there would be a rush to it, getting supplies, raiding malls, running around.
God, I'm so childish.
The thought of all the pain and suffering such an event would cause is blocked from my mind and hidden somewhere in the back room.
As for the outcome, who knows? Depends on many factors, how fast the infection (or whatever caused it) would spread. How fast could it be controlled and how many trigger happy people would get their kicks.

So, bring on the zombies and tell me where we'll all meet. I'll get the walkie talkies, cell phones, sling shots (useless but provide comfort, lol), yucky canned food and my weird sense of humor.

I didn't know that you were a pilot! So am I.
Back on topic. I guess like any major disaster, one would be better off if he/she was not around any large cities. Whatever people were there would undoubtably be paniced and killing each other for the supplies that remained. You would stand a better chance of survival out in the rurals areas as there would be less compitition for food and shelter. A good comparison would be the aftermath of Katrina. The people in the urban areas bore the brunt of the after effects simply because there were few supplies and many people.
As to rather people would band together or not, most city dwellers are not as used to working together as say farmers might be. They are less likely to know one another and therefore less likely to be conncerned with the others well being. The best answer to that part of the OP is that I think that it would depend more on where you live as to how the people would act towards one another. If the disaster persits for an extended time, the people who survive willbe the ones who were more willing to work together, so, as time passes, you will find more bands of humans.
I guess it would also be determined by how wide spread the affected area is. If it is localized, get out. Even if you win, you won't get a medal. If it's worldwide, or too far to travel, you might need to focus more on the first orders of business, survival.
Another factor is: How long do you expect the sitation to persist? If it's only for a few days, you might do better to hold up in your own home. If it could last for weeks, you will have to concider gathering whatever supplies you need to hold out. This will be more difficult than it seems because, after the first day or two, many people will be running out of the basics and will be doing the same thing. Anything longer than a couple of months needs to be concidered as a perminant change in the order of things. You will be better off in a place where you can provide the basics for yourself, like a family farm. If you are having to leave an area to find a more suitable living arrangement, bare in mind that you might not be the first to find that "Shangrala" and the people who beat you there might not want your company. Be prepared, have something to trade. Your services as a farmhand may or may not be enough.

There was a thread about this a wile back. We talked about what known disease could mutate in to a zombie type disease. Some one came up with a very good one a mutated form of rabies that is a lot more contages and stronger making people attack each other with a rabid rage. It is a very good theory on what could happen and no we wouldn’t ban together. We would all just die lol.

if that ever happened... I'd so want a flame thrower.
But it would be every man for themself. So, guess this means they'd be too worried about being attacked, that you wouldn't have to worry about buying anything anymore.
No one would be manning the stores. I'd just pack a bag with some clothes, and head out to the woods. Living off the land would beat dealing with zombies.
*Snickers* Though, would be amusing to make day trips into town to watch the carnage.

If a whole city was contaminated with a virus like the T-Virus, reanimating the cells of every living thing? Heh. I think George Bush would nuke the hell out of the city.

dont get 28 days later mixed up with zombie movies 28 days later there not zombies in convetion there dead there just infected with the rage and in zombie movies like romeros dawn of the dead day of the dead and land of the dead ( he didnt do any of the night of the liveing dead or return of the dead movies) you had to be bitten to be infected but in 28 days later if one of the "raged" person was shot and killed and there blood landed in your eyes you would become one and of course if you were bitten and no i dont think it would spread very fast have you ever been to watts franklin everybody has guns it wouldnt last long

*loading shotgun* "Come and get me you &%^#*))!*# ZOMBIES!!!!"
It'll be soo cool. But scary too. Imagine, just one bite or scratch and you are one of them. It'll be hard to survive.
And btw, resident evil is so far-fetched and doesn't make sense.
Who would want an child AI hologram for a queen?
Who would want to create a virus which can do that? There'll be no purpose.
Why is it that all the pro's die, but not the hot babe?
Nobody would create a security system as complicated and dangerous as those in the movie.
At the end, everyone at the town dies and the town is in mayhem, but the girl wakes up on the bed, unharmed.
Just a thought though.

good thought but the reason they do so is told in the movie that if the infection would be let loose it would have to be contamnated thats why she actavaties the halon 1211 and it gets out anyways because the air ducts but the movie is a little far fetch for sure and the reason the created was for military pourpouses and medical reason

it would be a blast i agree with the guy who would make the infection longer just for the fun of breaking into places, and killing the reanimated people i hated when they were humans.

I don't get to why is it people like chaos, suffering, and dying? Your own family members turning against you when they are bitten, and you had to make a choice to kill them or not.
*sigh*
And, rabies can be a zombie-like disease.

From what I was told, it has happened. Not to the degree in the movies (eating of brains, running, talking) but there have been test and experiments done. The cadavers were only animated for 5 minutes. They were sprayed with chemicals and left so it could soak in. The muscles would move. I bet it is still being done today. Could you imagine. Instead of us fighting wars, they would be reanimated cadavers doing it for us. No loss of life...
