This isn't really a thread for the skeptics , I would like to hear something from the more religious people on the forum. I'm not a religious person nor have i ever been for that matter but i'm somewhat spiritual and believe in god. So let me get to my question , Say after we die do we get to decide were we go or is it decided for us? I'm not talking about murderers and hardcore criminals those people would obviously go to hell. But people that lead decent lives and try to do the right thing by people. Can we decide to remain earthbound if we want or would we have the option of going to heaven? And if we chose to could we also chose to be eventually be reborn on earth?

Good question but I'm afraid not even a well-meaning religious person has the answer cause if they did, they would bottle it and sell it $100 a pop..... and WOW wouldn't that be neat, eh ??

if you read the bible (kjv) itll tell ya these answers to your questions .even if your a great person do great things bible tells us unless we repent .be born again of the water and spirit we will not see the kingdom of heaven...thats where we make the choice/decide where we go.havent read anything bout comin back to earth...but that is just my input on your question.

It depends on who you ask; according to most xians, accepting jesus is the only way to heaven otherwise you burn in hell(they get the corner market on entrances to heaven; convenient huh?). Islam leans a bit more towards looking at the actions in your life and what kind of person you were. Some religions don't believe in a heaven and simply thing you start all over again...

There are some who think that they can kill a man one day and given thousands to charity the next day and that balances the scales, but I am sure that you know better than that.
Truly regretting harm you have done to others and always trying to be good to others as you would wish people to be good to you because it comes from the genuine desire of your heart is all the spiritual world seems to ask of us to become a functioning part of whatever system they have and use, through assimulation.

I believe we go where it is best for us, to whatever level suits us. For instance, let's take someone who, whilst on Earth committed terrible attrocities, maybe these sort of people go to where others of same ilk abide and so they live in a state of permanent "hell" (for want of a better word). Maybe if there is no-one like them, they may be permanently on their own, no relationships with any spirits or anything else for that matter.

I do not believe that anyone would need to remain Earthbound in order to reincarnate or be reborn on Earth, I believe that reincarnation is the Soul's way forward to learn and evolve and so would happen anyway, if that is what is desired.

Of course, this is just my view.

According to the bible...the book of revelation chapter 20, it states that those who have died, will not be brought to heaven untill over a thousand years AFTER the second coming of Christ, which at that time they will be judged. So...if looking at this from a biblical stance....once you die, you won't go to heaven to be judged for a very long time. (bad or good)
